25.01.2022 The Orange Cup and $65000 in prize money will be on offer tomorrow when the Racing Orange host their showcase cup meeting. The club will have $280,000 in prize... money across an 8-race-program that has attracted some of the best country and city trainers in NSW. 2018-cup winner Letter To Juliette will go around as the top weight for trainer Garry White and jockey Matthew Cahill. The 5-year-old Dane Shadow mare won last seasons race when backed late and will come into this event after running second in the 2019-cup prelude. The lightly raced mare is currently the $3.30 favourite but will have to contend with 61kgs but does get some favours, drawing Barrier 1 in the 9-horse-field. She wont have it all her own way with the more seasoned Welcome Art sure to give some sight in this event. The Andrew Molloy runner will be looking to add another cup to his repertoire after the 6-year-old gelding won the Cowra Cup late last year. The Excellent Art runner keeps Billy Owen on board and is coming off a good 3rd in the Bathurst Thoroughbred Racing Bathurst Cup last month and looks primed for the 2100m event. Bjorn Baker Racingr has again supported the Orange Cup meeting with 8 runners across 6 races. The Warwick Farm-based strapper wont have a runner in the cup after winning the feature race in 2016 and 2017 but has some nice chances across the card. Baker will saddle up 4 favourites for the meeting, having the three shorties in the first three races, and the popular Baaed in the get-out stakes. The Orange race club will have a meeting and entertainment on offer aimed at the Friday crowd. The Fashions on the Field will judged Best Dressed Lady and Best Dressed Man and prizes will include products from Price Attack, Mary & Tex Curious Emporium, Two Heads Brewing and Angullong Wines. Scarr Entertainment will have Nocturnal playing tunes flowing 3pm, the popular duo is now a permanent fixture at Towac Park Racecourse Orange.
