25.01.2022 Are your children living in a selfie-obsessed world? Do you feel their emotions and self-esteem are validated by their online connections rather than by 'real world' engagement? Our secondary campus MacKillop House Pastoral Leader, Mr Garry Woodford, provides some insights and tips for raising virtuous children in a selfie-obsessed world in the latest edition of Families Magazine. #familiesmagazine #howtoinstilvirtues #sccceditorial

21.01.2022 Congratulations to the junior boys rugby league team who yesterday played in the Rugby League College Cup grand final against Mueller College. After training hard and being undefeated for the entire competition, they had a convincing win of 34 - 4. Special shout-out to Cody Starr and Marlin Lane for winning the coach's award and MVP player respectively. Students are already looking forward to preparations for next year's competition!
21.01.2022 Our Years 7-11 students celebrated their achievements for Semester 2 at the recent Scholars Assembly. Awards for Academic Merit and Zeal and Rigour were presented to many students for their commitment to their studies in this difficult year. Perpetual awards were also given to those students who went above and beyond in many areas of College life. Well done to all recipients! #2020awards #unwaveringinourpursuit
21.01.2022 This week our ATSI (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander) students celebrated their graduation liturgy in the secondary campus chapel. The liturgy would normally be held in St Stephen's Cathedral with other ATSI students from catholic schools in the region, however due to Covid, each school held their own celebration. The Liturgy was attended by the families, Garanyali students Chloe Bradford and Jemmya Keys, the college leadership team and BCE Education Officers. A special thank you also to Br Rick for leading the celebration.

19.01.2022 Who can believe Christmas is just around the corner? Our Scarborough Primary Preppies showed us what the Christmas season is all about when they shined on stage and performed the Christmas story. Some little stars in the making!
19.01.2022 Lasallian Principle - CONCERN FOR THE POOR AND SOCIAL JUSTICE In the lead up to Christmas all of our campuses have been supporting St Vincent de Paul with their Christmas appeal. Primary students brought in goods for hampers and the secondary students raised money to buy vouchers to give to Vinnies to support families in need. Secondary Campus appeal co-ordinator, Mrs Deana Leo, visited SVDP to deliver the vouchers this week. The campus is proud to have donated $2,500 to hel...p 24 local families needing some extra support at this time of year. Through generous donations, Milo Fridays, Mission Stalls and funds from Containers for Change, SCCC is living out one of it's five Lasallian Principles - Concern for the Poor and Social Justice. We hope this small contribution will put a smile on some faces in our community. #svdp #vinnieschristmasappeal #unwaveringinourpursuit See more
18.01.2022 Potential Plus is providing amazing opportunities for SCCC students. Scarborough Primary's enterprising girls and problem solvers of the future concluded their Tech Girls project by presenting their 'think global, act local' solution to local Councillor, Sandra Ruck. Congratulations to: * Lola Chloe, Poppy and Miley for their 'Positive Peninsula' and 'TT2T - Take Time to Talk' initiatives to combat loneliness and isolation and to encourage us to appreciate our beautiful peni...nsula. * Lani, Freya Isla, Charlotte and Mia for their project to welcome students from a refugee background into our school community. * Grace, Ella, Caitlyn, Zoe and Tabitha for their community service initiative to 'Keep our community streets safe'. Students are to be congratulated for their innovation, enthusiasm and creativity and we look forward to seeing them continue to make our world a better place using the skills and capacity they have demonstrated.
18.01.2022 On Tuesday 3rd November, Year 6 students from our primary campuses and surrounding schools successfully participated in their Year 7 Orientation Day. Here they established connections with their future teachers and their senior buddies, formed new friendships with those who will be in their impending Year 7 peer group and became familiar with their Secondary campus. Much fun was had, engaging in many rewarding activities and experiences. We look forward to working with our 2021 Year 7 students.

09.01.2022 As part of a Potential Plus activity Year 8 girls had the opportunity to see themselves as the problem solvers of the future in the Academy for Enterprising Girls Tech Girls session. This is part of a federal government initiative to get more young women thinking of themselves as innovators, entrepreneurs and problem solvers of the future. Working on an online platform they identified issues affecting our world before narrowing it down to our local community and issues that... they cared about or impacted them and designed an app which could help solve some of these issues. These girls had no idea what they were capable of before this workshop and it was amazing to hear and see their confidence build. They have the opportunity to develop their enterprising girl skills over the summer with the next step of the program and we plan to follow up next year with more challenges and competition. Well done to everyone for enthusiasm and stepping up to a big challenge. #potentialplus #techgirls2020
