24.01.2022 Hi. Can't say "thank you" enough to everyone who came by on Friday and Saturday to collect their gifts. Thanks for understanding. Thanks for your patience. Thanks for laughing. No, we did not have frappes available ... in any flavour .... Thanks for your gratitude. Thanks to the wonderful volunteers who came on Thursday, Friday and Saturday to make the magic happen. To all our returning friends, you know how heart broken we are that this was all we could do. To all our 'first timers', come back and see us in full flight. Lastly - but NEVER least - thank you to every supporting business for standing by us as we did our best to honour your faith in us. Merry Christmas and here's to good health and laughter in 2021. See more

21.01.2022 Last day for gift collection TODAY after hundreds of families came by yesterday! Access via GATE 9 off WANDAL ROAD. We’re here from 8 until 4.30. A reminder there is no Party, activities or entertainment for the children. It is simply a drive through collection where you DO NOT exit your vehicle.

21.01.2022 We're open for Christmas present pickup today (and tomorrow in fact) from 8am until 4.30pm don't forget your vouchers!

20.01.2022 I don't know about you, but I need a really good laugh. Not saying THIS is a good laugh ...

20.01.2022 Thank you to Mandalay Medical Centre for supporting us (and Central Queensland's special children) this year

19.01.2022 Perfecting that slide techniqueat the Rockhampton 2019 party

19.01.2022 Just thought I would share with you our update to all our sponsors ... keep the faith :)

18.01.2022 Talk of Covid-19 is everywhere. Can you imagine how frightening it is for the kids? As adults we are running all the What if scenarios through our heads and trying to keep things as ordinary as possible for our children. The only ‘what if’ to be addressed here is about whether the Special Children’s Christmas Party will go ahead this year. We believe it will. We are proceeding to ensure it will. But we don’t have a crystal ball and we don’t have control of all the factors. ...However, I have 27 years of my life invested in these Parties. We have been through an awful lot of unprecedented events in that time and we have prevailed. We will again. We will think of a way. If more than 500 people are permitted to gather, there will be a Party at the venue and it will be the best we can make it. If it’s less than 500 (or whatever number) then maybe there will be ‘shifts’ at the Party and people will come and go. Will it look the same as other years? Maybe. Maybe it will be better. Great changes came to the way we work from standing in almost knee-deep water at a Party years ago. A good shake up forces us to look at things from a different angle. Will we have toys? Well, we have been in a room filled with possible toys packed to the rafters trying to choose between the rad reindeer and delightful donkey. Or there’s always the dotty dogthe beautiful bear decisions. Decisions. Whichever we choose, we know it will go into the loving arms of the invited children. The world economic impacts on the Australian dollar adds an extra degree of difficulty and another polish of the crystal ball. IF the world is still trying to contain, control, manage, understand this virus by the time the Parties come around in November and December, we are going to need every possible opportunity to celebrate life, family and community. We are working towards being a huge part of that celebration. Please keep the faith and we will stay calm and believe in Santa. Thank you for all your support and hope to see you later in the year when we share your generosity with hundreds of local families. Stay well. See more

16.01.2022 Continuing from yesterday's thought ...

14.01.2022 There is no way for us to adequately thank the amazing volunteers who make our Party possible and successful. Love your work and Happy Volunteers Week.

14.01.2022 I know it's been a little while and, as time goes by, everyone is curious about the Party for this year. Well, as you can see, the Master Plan is being written and re-written in pencil so we can keep up to date with restrictions. Our mission will always be to contribute to these kid's lives but we have to keep it safe. Stay tuned!

11.01.2022 Just 6 weeks until Christmas today (but you might be getting some of your presents a little early this year!)

11.01.2022 Shop local! Local family businesses make the Party possible :)

09.01.2022 Great shot with Santa at the 2019 Rockhampton party

07.01.2022 We know how much the families who attend the Special Children's Christmas Party rely on the excellent help and support they get from nurses and so we join with our families in saying 'Thank you"

07.01.2022 It's a little bit exciting - and VERY nerve-wracking - but we have just submitted our COVID Safe Event Plan to the Queensland Health Department for approval to hold the Party. Please pray to whoever you believe in and cross whatever you can that we get the tick of approval to hold the biggest version of the Party we can. IF there's stumbling blocks, we have other plans

07.01.2022 Join this - #TheKindnessPandemic. It will help you not just survive these times but to believe in this incredible humanity we share.

06.01.2022 All in red for the occasion at the Rockhampton 2019 party

04.01.2022 http://deakinresear.ch/asd-play-covid-fb I'm not good at this social media stuff but it seemed a lot of parents who attend the Party might be interested in participating in this survey.

03.01.2022 In case you hadn't noticed - it's only one month to go until Christmas Day
