04.01.2022 Tuesday morning my Mum received a phone call to change Kate’s life forever. My mum called me. When she told me I was stunned. I didn’t say a word. I let it si...nk in for a few hours then I decided I would go to the hospital to be with Kate before her surgery. As I pulled into the car park Kate was about to be wheeled out of the ward. The hallway seemed like it went forever and I made it in her room in time to hold her hand and kiss her. She broke down in tears and told me she loved me and how proud of me she was. I kissed her head and said I love you. Hours later we were still waiting for Kate to be taken to theatre. Kate was snoring her little head off and I was doing a crossword. I was almost done as I saw a man come running down the hall. He yelled out to the nurses that theatre is ready get Kate ready. I jumped up and grabbed Kate’s hand. Zac, dad mum Bev and Myself just stood in disbelief that it was actually happening. They unplugged all the cords and started to wheel her out the ward. We walked along side her. Holding one another crying. As we went into the pre theatre area, I lost it. Seeing Kate on a big bed and the surgical team standing and preparing Kate was surreal. I held her hand one last time and told her our how much I love her. I watched Kate get wheeled away and I stood in utter disbelief. I’m still in shock now. My heart aches for the beautiful family who has lost someone they love. Not for one minute have I not thought about this person and their loved ones who are experiencing a great deal of grief. I just want to thank you. Through this families wonderful act of kindness my sister is having a second chance. Thank you
