09.01.2022 Hello all, Polling booths are opened in the Queensland Local Government Elections. Yes, its compulsory to vote in this election, otherwise there is a $133 fine. 03.01.2022 Good evening all, as we're on the verge of the local council election tomorrow, i just wanted to say a massive 'Thank you' to everyone who has helped me, given me advice, rung or messaged me on my campaign. I've tried very hard to only run on my reputation and what i can bring to the council chamber as a councillor for Division 4. It was fantastic to see people become engaged, asking serious questions about what is affecting them and offering solutions. My intention is to hi...t the ground running as i have several issues that require my attention almost immediately. It won't be easy, far from it but if it was easy then anyone could stick their hand up. To the other candidates in Division 4, congratulations on a great campaign. You made me work harder than ever and i appreciate the way you conducted yourself. No matter who wins, Division 4 and the Moreton Bay region will be much better off due to the calibre of candidates. Also, good luck to all the other candidates in the other divisions, a job well done. If you haven't voted yet, remember to Vote 1 John Schembri for Division 4. 01.01.2022 That's it, all done and dusted. My 2 month campaign has ended, just need to tidy up some stuff and box it all up. It's been an interesting campaign, no doubt about it. The virus really brought a swift end to pre-poll but we adapted, used other means to get our message out. Should i, could i have done stuff differently...oh absolutely but that's why they call it experience. We all live and learn and i certainly have, no doubt about it. I just wanted to give a massive shout out... and thank you to my beautiful wife Sarah Schembri for her support, love and advice, it was invaluable. You are my rock, my world. Couldn't have done it without you. To the people of Division 4, thank you also. You've shown me that you are worth fighting for and I intend to do you proud, should i be elected.
