24.01.2022 The transformation continues!! Great work by the team at Schenk! It's amazing how something so simple as new flooring can make such a huge difference. Out with the old and in with new we say! The attention should be on the classic finish of the staircase. Timber supplied by @woodcut_aus designed by @harperlanedesign

13.01.2022 Fun Fact of the day! Why do they call this wainscotting?? I don't think anyone really knows but the closest explanation is the dutch word wageschot, which means the inner wooden covering of a wall. That makes sense!... We know it was developed in stone buildings to insulate the room from the cold stone. In the modern era as you can see it's pretty much just used for decorative purposes.

05.01.2022 Transformation should be replacing the word renovation! It's about the journey and not the destination! Take a look at the progress of one of our projects as an example.... There has always been a very interesting discussion floating around in regards to renovating versus rebuilding. The questions that we get asked all time. Would it be cheaper to just knock it down and rebuild? Would it be a much better quality finish? If we're doing all this work wouldn't it just be easier just to start again? Some theories behind this are just a myth where as some theories are better answered based on your circumstances alone. Is it cheaper to keep the envelope of your existing dwelling and work with what you have rather than rebuilding? - YES Does this mean we could move walls around internally to maximise space and still save money? - YES Can I still have a quality finish if I don't start from scratch? - YES. Just remember the construction industry has come so far over the last century. There are always new products on the market with new techniques and they are evolving by the day. With the right workmanship anything is possible.
