21.01.2022 UPDATE ON OUR TUBBY LIL MATE - MICKY Today we met Micky and his foster mum at the vet to have his kennel cough booster and draw some blood before he goes in to have his teeth cleaned and at least one extraction (the vet found a fracture) next week. What a remarkable change! Hes lost 1.4kg (14kg in human perspective) and was moving a lot more confidently and freely. ... His man boob has gone down a cup size and he can actually stretch now! He really couldnt be with a better a foster family - hes going on walks twice daily, eating good food, being exposed to different noises and situations and getting lots of love. Thanks Ayla and Johno, you guys are kicking goals!! Hes such a happy little fella with a beautiful disposition.

He enjoys his voice and telling random people how he is feeling, he lives for walks, bones and snuffling. We all love him to bits. Thank you for giving us the chance to give him the love and attention he deserves.

18.01.2022 Last week we had a very well loved 8yo schnauzer cross surrendered to the rescue as his owner was returning overseas and sadly couldnt take him. This little fellow weighed in at 15.6kg after being on a very decadent diet that most humans would be jealous of! Hes gone off to a foster home today to find his dormant abs and slim down a tad -if we put it in human weight he weighs 156kg when he should be 90kg Hes a lovable, happy little chappy and once the love handles ha...ve diminished we will have him off to the vet to have his teeth cleaned before finding his new forever home, though there's every chance he may become a foster fail! (we are not accepting applications at this point in time) * 'if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it at all' - negative comments will be deleted. Support and encouragement, not judgement, is what he needs at the moment.

17.01.2022 ALVIN WAS FOUND THIS EVENING DECEASED IN A RIVER NEAR HOME - RIP LITTLE ONE Our Miniature Schnauzer 'Alvin' has gotten lost in the Viewbank/Rosanna/Lower Plenty/Yallambie Area. A maintenance contractor has left the side gate opened and Alvin has taken himself for a walk at around 9pm on the 2nd June. I have driven all areas since then with no luck. He is almost 14 and tires easily, and he has recently had a hair cut and will be cold. We love him and want him home with us. He lives inside and due to skin irritation doesn't wear a collar. 08.01.2022 Among the doom & gloom of the current COVID 19 pandemic there is good news too. We were contacted by a lovely lady who is having a few health issues at the moment and was finding looking after an 8 month old boisterous puppy to be a struggle. In the best interest of the puppy we were asked if we could rehome him - ENTER FRITZ ... Fritz came to the rescue for a few days to be assessed & have a vet check. He spent a couple of nights in the company of 6 other schnauzers and loved it. The vet gave him a clean bill of health (& fell in love with him) & he had a haircut. We contacted Linda and her active family who had been on our waitlist for a couple of years & asked if theyd like to add a fluffy, goofy, gentle little boy to their family and the answer was, of course, YES. Fritz is now living a very active lifestyle with 3 busy kids across the road from a dog beach.

01.01.2022 This evening we heard that Hugo had been given his wings and crossed the rainbow bridge. Since starting the rescue 3 years ago its the first time we have lost one of our little angels, its hard news to bear.
