25.01.2022 FRIDAY IS DOLLY DAY. I know that Bec Pyke has posted on the Parent Information Hub asking for a gold coin donation. What can happen on these days, is that your little ones forget why they have a gold coin and we get a surge in demand for icy poles :D :D :D So....THIS FRIDAY all proceeds from the sale of icy poles will go direct to Do it for Dolly <3

25.01.2022 ADVANCE NOTICE: Please note that lunch orders will NOT be available for Paynesville Primary School on Thursday 24th May. The canteen will be selling dim sims, pies, toasties and drinks to cater for Winter Sports which will be available to purchase on the day. Also, Lunch Orders will not be available from 20-22 June (Wed-Fri) inclusive. Apologies for any inconvenience.

24.01.2022 Just a few items from the new menu which have been particularly popular. The Meatball melt and Chicken Parma Baguette, made with bread baked fresh in the canteen every day. A cheeseburger, with low GI lean beef patty, salad and slaw, and an old favourite, ham and pineapple pizza (available as a special)

24.01.2022 Sadly Ian is still away caring for his parents in the UK, so in the new term, school meals will continue to be only available on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of each week until he returns. Apologies for any inconvenience caused. :-)

23.01.2022 We hope you are all having an enjoyable Easter break. The bad news is that it is nearly over :D The good news is that we have finally got a new menu for the new term. There are a number of similarities but also some new items and some adjustments to keep up to date with the dietary requirements for schools. And just a quiet word....for those of you with children who love the pizza, we had to remove it from the menu as a regular item, but I am more than happy to continue to ...provide it as a special - so don't be afraid to order :D Icy Poles will be cutting back over the winter but we will be looking at the return of dimmies for one day a week and perhaps some homemade soup or similar as well. Any suggestions for winter additions would be gratefully received. <3 A copy of the menu will be in the newsletter, and further copies are available from reception.

23.01.2022 Following on from the Premier's announcement and the School's email, we will be moving to remote learning for Term 2. This means that from the start of Term 2 all students who can learn from home must learn at home. In view of this, and as we are both engaged in work defined as essential during the lockdown, the school canteen will remain closed whilst this level of restriction continues. We will post an update when circumstances change. ... Take care, everyone.

22.01.2022 TERM 1 - 2020 IMPORTANT INFO - Changes to Lunch Days **EDITED** =============== During the school holidays, I've been up in Swifts Creek feeding the emergency workers. Due to the ongoing situation and the ongoing huge recovery work, I will be continuing there for the immediate future.... That means we will be only doing lunches every Friday for now. A slightly amended menu will apply (see below) but we have managed to avoid price increases. I will revert to more days when I can, but in the meantime my apologies for any inconvenience. Please spread the word if you can. Thank you :-) A printable copy of the menu is available on request. Please use the messenger button if you have questions.

22.01.2022 Not long before the start of a new school year. Welcome back to everyone, and welcome for the first time to all children, parents and carers who are joining the PPS family for the first time <3 School Lunches will be available again on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday each week. Starting WED 30/1. A new menu is about to start, but until we have sent a copy out with the school newsletter, we'll be running with the existing one for the first week or so.... :-)

20.01.2022 Following the publication of the new menu, I have been approached by a slightly disturbing lynch mob protesting at the removal of Pizza from the menu :-o .....SO..... Ever responsive to customer demand, I am pleased to confirm that the Margherita and Hawaiian Pizza will still be available. It doesn't appear on the new menu, but I will change that when the next reprint is due and I will also put a notice up in the canteen window. ... People power prevails :D :D :D

20.01.2022 NEWS UPDATE: The new Winter Menu will be available with effect from Wednesday 23 May. This replaces all previous versions. I have emailed a copy of the menu to the school and asked them to include it in the next newsletter, and a copy will also be posted on the Parent Information Hub page.... Please also note that as we are moving into winter, icy poles will only be available on appropriate days - certainly not every day. We will, however, be returning to offering steamed dimmies every Wednesday lunchtime @ 50c each. Please also refer to a couple of closures coming up. The canteen will not be open on Thursday 24 May as it will be catering for Winter Sports competitors and visitors. Hot snacks and drinks will be available to purchase on the day from 10am. The canteen will also be closed for 3 days from 20-22 June inclusive. We apologise for any inconvenience caused. :-)

20.01.2022 My apologies, but there will be NO school lunches on the last Friday before half-term (21/9) as I have to return to England for personal reasons. Lunches will recommence as normal following the break. I have asked for a notice to be placed in the newsletter and invite any members of the parents hub to share this on their page. 18.01.2022 Further to the Premier's announcement and Carol's email this morning, school will recommence for preps, and grades 1 and 2 from Tuesday 26 May. As a trial, the canteen will be open for lunch on Tuesdays only for the time being. The menu will be posted soon. For this to work, we will need to observe certain restrictions, and your understanding would be very much appreciated.... 1. Payment and orders need to be placed in a plastic bag. 2. Correct money only please. To avoid cross contamination, change will not be given. A credit note will be issued instead. 3. If you are providing a lunch order bag, they must not have been used previously. We'll review the situation once the remaining year groups start in June. Stay safe everyone <3

17.01.2022 Hi Guys, Back into the swing of things with a new term. Just a reminder for children with swimming classes. If your child has a swimming class, it might be worth considering not ordering a lunch on that day if they are returning late after lunch. If you do still want to order on swimming day, perhaps consider a cold option ? Lunches not collected by 1.15pm will be taken to the school office for later collection.... Thank you !

15.01.2022 End of another school year, and many thanks to the students who have helped out in the canteen this year. Great to see so many of you also picking up achievement awards at Graduation. So to Darcie, Sage, Ellie, Tali, Kayla, Georgie and Chloe and all the other back up helpers.....Good Luck for the next stage of your lives. You've been awesome :-)

12.01.2022 Hi, After a long absence, I am pleased to be back in the canteen. Thanks to Jac for volunteering to keep it running whilst also working full time when I was away. Now I'm back, there will be a new menu coming out shortly. Please bear with me whilst it's being prepared, but I hope to add some interesting and healthy options for Spring and Summer.... We will also be sticking with 3 days a week (Wed/Thu/Fri) as the feedback on this has been positive and Mondays and Tuesdays have never really been viable. In addition, Dim Sims will no longer be available to buy from the hatch on Wednesdays with immediate effect. They may make a return as a standard menu item, dependent on the balance of the menu. Thank you all for your continued support without which this service could not be sustained.

11.01.2022 So we reach the end of another school year. Thank you to the students who have helped in the canteen this year, and good luck to those who will be leaving us this time. For your information..... The canteen will operate as normal until Friday 14th December. As the last day of school is the following Wednesday, the last school lunches for 2018 will be on FRIDAY 14 December.... See you next year with a new and hopefully popular canteen menu.

10.01.2022 Some dates for your diary. Firstly. There will be NO Lunches on Thursday 24 October as we'll be watching our daughter at The State Athletics Championships in Melbourne. Second. The Canteen will be closed following orders on the last Friday in November and will not reopen until the new school year starts. ... Apologies for any inconvenience and thank you for your support. We'll be back in 2020 with a new summer menu :-)

09.01.2022 Hi all, just to let you know that the new menu is operating with effect from the beginning of March. I am pleased to have avoided the need to increase prices, and have tried to include a decent variety of options whilst still remaining within the relevant guidelines. A copy will be going out with the next newsletter or can be picked up from the office. PAYNESVILLE PS Lunches are available WED/THU/FRI every week. Icy poles will also be offered from the hatch at lunchtimes o...n those days. EAGLE POINT PS Lunches are available every Friday. If you have questions or dietary requirements, please let us know. Thank you for your ongoing support. Whilst orders are not huge at the moment, hopefully they will build as they usually do to ensure that we can continue to provide lunches for local children. There is a new lunch menu which will appear in the next newsletter, and can be viewed and downloaded here. Eagle Point Students/parents can obtain a copy of their menu from reception at the school. For parents' information can we also confirm that due to other commitments and very low demand on Mondays and Tuesdays, lunches will continue to only be served on Wedneday, Thursday and Friday ev...ery week. 07.01.2022 GRADE SIX GRADUATION DINNER 17 December 2019 at the GLYC. Thank you for the tremendous response. The final numbers are now in, and the function is fully booked. The School will confirm times and other details in due course. If anyone has specific dietary requirements they will need to discuss them with the school as a matter of urgency.

04.01.2022 A lovely story. I can't name the child at the moment as I haven't been able to get permission, but I dropped a $50 note whilst carrying shopping from the car park to the canteen. It was a windy day and I had no luck finding it, so I advised the school of the loss, just in case.... Later in the day, one of the students handed in a $50 note which he had found in the school grounds. I will of course be doing something appropriate to thank him, but I wanted to share the story, because this young man has shown a wonderful honesty and decency that I am not convinced a number of adults would have managed. He is a credit to himself, to those who brought him up and to the school. It is a real pleasure to relate a story like this when so many stories do not portray young people in a positive light. THANK YOU

03.01.2022 good news / bad news...... The good news. A new Summer menu will be out shortly, offering some old favourite and some new options. It will be posted here and printed in the newsletter. The bad news. There will be NO school lunches available on Wed 7/11 Thu 8/11 or Fri 9/11. I will also ask the school to remind parents/carers via the newsletter.

03.01.2022 Just posting a copy of the new menu available from tomorrow. Please also note that there is a pricing error. Homemade Vegetable Soup with a roll is $ 2, not $ 4. I will amend on the next print of the menu, but my apologies for the typo in the meantime. Thank you......

02.01.2022 Dimmy Day is back from tomorrow..... Every Wednesday from the canteen, Dim Sims will be available to purchase for 50c each. You don't have to order, but we do run out some days, so it might make sense :-) ... Come to the canteen immediately after the second bell at lunchtime. Thank you :-)
