25.01.2022 Thank you to the four incredible businesses that have joined up as our Donation Tap Point Partners - Bellagio Cafe, Bacino Bar, Artistry, and Randwick Dental Care. These four businesses have set up tap points at their counters where customers can tap their cards to make a $2 donation to School for Life's KUMI tailors, so that they have the materials they need to sew and distribute fabric face masks to patients of our medical partner, Alive Medical Services. So far, ou...r KUMI tailors have created and distributed 10,000 reusable fabric face masks to Alive Medical Services patients and plan to make 8,000 more. The pandemic has been an incredibly busy time for our hardworking tailors - in addition to taking on this enormous project with AMS, our tailors have also managed to create and distribute handmade face masks to our entire School for Life community to ensure they stay safe and healthy in this time. Their work is absolutely vital and we are so grateful for the support of these fantastic Aussie businesses See more

24.01.2022 Student in the Spotlight Hello, my name is Ronald and I'm 6 years old. I'm in Pre-Primary at Katuuso Primary School. I love school so much because I can play football with my friends at break and lunch time. I also love art and all the coloured paints and paper. I live with my aunty and after school every day, I help her in the garden. My favourite food is rice and beans, and my favourite animal is a cow. There's lots of kids just like me who don't have a spons...or to support them through school. 15.01.2022 Happy World Teacher’s Day! In 1966 UNESCO declared this day, the 5th of October, to be celebrated each year as World Teacher’s Day, as a reminder of the invaluable work of teachers around the world in educating the next generation. This year, the theme of World Teachers Day is ‘Young Teachers: The Future of the Profession’, and so today we must take the time to consider how we can encourage our bright and brilliant young people to embark on a teaching career to enrich the li...ves and education of other youth around the world. On this day, we also show our gratitude to all teachers around the world - and especially our fabulous teachers here at School for Life - who strive each day to provide a quality education to their students that will open up doors to limitless opportunities. Thank you teachers!

12.01.2022 We asked our Buy A Brick matched funding donors why they are involved and passionate about education and Africa, and here is what they shared with us: "We believe education changes lives and every child in the world should be supported to learn and reach their potential. School for Life offers children a wonderful opportunity to get an education and follow their passions and interests and dream for the future.... Every child matters and has an important part to play in community and so supporting this new program in particular enables more children to learn and in turn create change for generations to come." Who else here believes every child matters and should have the opportunity to get an education?! Comment with a below if you do too. https://buy-a-brick-to-build-a-brighter-future.schoolforlif

11.01.2022 Did you know all of our construction is done by hand? All of our bricks are hand-pressed with special machines, all of our foundations are dug out by hand and the concrete is hand-poured. Everything is manually done with back-breaking effort. Right now they are in the midst of our boys' boarding project, forging ahead even with the challenges of the pandemic and natural forces. Heavy rains in the area have meant inaccessible roads to get materials and tools through, mat...erial prices have fluctuated due to economic changes and production of bricks are delayed due to the constant need of repairing the hand-operated machinery. It's been tough but they are making great progress. We have now even moved our team onsite so they are not further hampered by the restriction of travelling on roads, as mandated by the Ugandan Government recently in response to the current COVID situation in Uganda. https://buy-a-brick-to-build-a-brighter-future.schoolforlif See more

She and her husband hope to have some children of their own in the years to come. In the meantime, she is happy teaching, listening to gospel music, reading novels, and spending time with her family.
