25.01.2022 Cheers to International Coffee Day unknown

22.01.2022 We know it's seriously HOT right now but swimming at night, whether it's at the beach or in a swimming pool, can be dangerous... especially if you're under the influence. If you get into trouble, lifeguards are not on duty and help may not arrive until it's too late. #schoolies2020 #schoolies #schooliesweek #schoolies2k20 #schoolies20 #saferschoolies #schooliesGC #gcschoolies #besafeandwatchyourmates

22.01.2022 When it comes to sex, you can change your mind and stop at any time. And just because you said yes to one thing doesn't mean you consent to anything else. Only yes means yes.... #schoolies2020 #schoolies #schooliesweek #schoolies2k20 #schoolies20 #saferschoolies #schooliesGC #gcschoolies #besafeandwatchyourmates #onlyyesmeansyes

19.01.2022 Almost everything will work again when you unplug it including you. Why not give yourself a breather this weekend and disconnect from everything digital? Even half the day can make a difference.

17.01.2022 Celebrating your graduation isn't the time to experiment with drugs. Every time you take drugs, you’re gambling with your life. Not only can you never be sure of what you are taking but more importantly, you never know how your body will react. ... Just because a drug hasn’t had any effect on your friends doesn’t mean that you will have the same experience. #schoolies2020 #schoolies #schooliesweek #schoolies2k20 #schoolies20 #saferschoolies #schooliesGC #gcschoolies #besafeandwatchyourmates #schoolies2020 #schoolies #schooliesweek #schoolies2k20 #schoolies20 #saferschoolies #schooliesGC #gcschoolies #besafeandwatchyourmates

16.01.2022 If it didn’t happen on social media, it didn’t happen right? What can start out as a bit of fun may end up being viewed by a wider audience than originally planned including by your family, media and even future employers. Don’t let a photo or video ruin your future. On International Selfie Day, have fun but always take a moment to think before you post.

16.01.2022 Have you talked with your mates about what Schoolies on the Gold Coast will really look like this year? With the Schoolies Hub on the beach not going ahead and restrictions around gatherings being in place, Schoolies will not be happening as it has in previous years. Not to mention accommodation house rules that may stop you having any gathos back in your apartments!... Reality is, this year may not live up to any great expectations. Whilst the best part about Schoolies is spending time with your mates, is sitting in a hotel room with them 24/7 really how you want to spend all your hard earned $$? It's not too late to rethink your choice.

15.01.2022 What advice have your parentals given you around Schoolies celebrations this year?

13.01.2022 Can you believe there's less than 20 weeks to go but who's counting?!

12.01.2022 Pre-plan your #LiftLegend to avoid drink driving during your end of school celebrations. http://ow.ly/nUxc50BmK4F

11.01.2022 DID YOU KNOW? Some apartments don't allow you to have any visitors. Additional to COVID restrictions, Schoolies accommodation bookings will come with a set of accommodation House Rules.... If you're choosing to celebrate, make sure you (and all your roomies) read your House Rules BEFORE you check in to avoid any nasty surprises - or possible eviction.

11.01.2022 If you are under the age of 18, it is illegal to drink alcohol. It's also illegal to drink in public and to be drunk in a public place no matter what your age. These are the laws for all of Queensland at all times.... #schoolies2020 #schoolies #schooliesweek #schoolies2k20 #schoolies20 #saferschoolies #schooliesGC #gcschoolies #besafeandwatchyourmates

11.01.2022 We keep getting asked whether last year's graduates who didn’t go to Schoolies, can come and celebrate in the Schoolies Hub this year. The answer is no. Safer Schoolies wristbands (for nightly access to the Schoolies Hub on the beach) will only be given to genuine 2021 Year 12 school leavers. ... Make sure you tag any of your 2020 mates so they don't get too far down the track with their planning. More info here: https://bit.ly/3g8Njjo

11.01.2022 The beach? Your friends? The sleep ins? Dancing in the Schoolies Hub? What are you looking forward to at this year's Schoolies.

10.01.2022 Only YES means YES! Sexual consent is not automatic just because you're in a relationship including new relationships formed during end of year celebrations. Make sure you have all the facts when it comes to consent.

10.01.2022 On International Day of Non-Violence, remember the importance of peace, tolerance, understanding and non-violence when it comes to celebrating the end of school. Everyone has the right to feel safe whilst having a good time.

10.01.2022 Who are you really staying with? Did you know that anyone can make a booking for Schoolies? By using strangers to boost up room numbers, you could be putting yourself and your mates in danger. ... Don't put yourself at risk by staying with someone you've never met.

09.01.2022 When it comes to balconies, don't get caught up in the moment and make a silly mistake that could ruin your celebrations or your life. #schoolies2020 #schoolies #schooliesweek #schoolies2k20 #schoolies20 #saferschoolies #schooliesGC #gcschoolies #besafeandwatchyourmates #respect

09.01.2022 As our commitment to Plastic Free July, we've canned the use of plastic bottles and cups. Our ace Schoolies vollies will be sporting their very own Safer Schoolies reusable drink bottles when out on the streets looking after you lot.

09.01.2022 We might be biased but we think we've got one of the best offices in the World. Beaches as beautiful as ours won't always be here for us to enjoy if we don't all do our bit. On World Environment Day, what's your favourite thing you do (big or small) to protect our planet?

08.01.2022 During the pandemic, our mental health and wellbeing is at an increased risk as we face a range of new challenges including job loss, no formals or even restrictions on our everyday freedom. Taking some ‘me time’ is important to help strengthen your mental wellbeing. It lifts your mood, helps you get through difficult situations and let's you make the most out of life. ... For simple ‘me time’ ideas visit the Your Mental Wellbeing website www.qld.gov.au/mentalwellbeing

07.01.2022 If you're about to check out, make sure you give your accommodation a good once over and leave it clean and tidy before you hand the keys back in. And don't forget to thank the staff for putting up with you ; ) #schoolies2020 #schoolies #schooliesweek #schoolies2k20 #schoolies20 #saferschoolies #schooliesGC #gcschoolies #besafeandwatchyourmates

07.01.2022 Thinking about taking drugs at Schoolies? Or maybe you already do? Every time you take drugs, you're gambling with your life. Drugs are not worth the risk. A father's plea: https://bit.ly/2Usmwqh

06.01.2022 Celebrating the end of Year 12 in 2020 is going to be very different to what you had expected. We encourage you to carefully think about what your end of school celebrations might look like. Where you'll go, when you'll go, who you’re going with and what you'll be able to do when you're there. ... Don’t feel pressured by your friends if you’re not comfortable celebrating this year or you want to change your plans. Remember to make your own decision and do what’s best for YOU.

06.01.2022 Aww it's BEST FRIENDS DAY. Tag your bestie to let them know you think they're ace.

05.01.2022 With final booking payments nearly due, deciding whether going away with your mates is the right thing to do this year is a huge decision for you. Remember to stay true to yourself, stick to your choices and what’s right for YOU at this point in time. Whilst FOMO is a real thing, it's important you don't do something you're uncomfortable doing just because you think everyone else is.

02.01.2022 Official Safer Schoolies wristbands are needed to access the FREE nightly Schoolies Hub on the beach. In order to get your free wristband, you need to register prior to Schoolies using your 2021 Year 12 student photo ID. Online registration will open in July ... No ID = No wristband = No Schoolies Hub access Hot tip - make sure you look after your ID between now and November (don't go sending it through the washing machine)!

To make accessibility arrangements, contact the Safer Schoolies team at [email protected]

02.01.2022 It may be late on R U Ok? Day but it’s never too late to check in with a mate to see if they’re okay. But what if they tell you they're not OK? What next? LISTEN WITH AN OPEN MIND - don't interrupt or rush the conversation, don't judge but acknowledge that things seem tough for them.... ENCOURAGE ACTION - ask how they would like you to support them, what have they done in the past to manage similar situations or encourage them to seek support from a health professional. CHECK IN - stay in regular touch and be there for them. Whether it be tonight, next week or during Schoolies, don’t ever ignore your gut and not check in. You never know, it could be one of the most important conversations you ever have. Follow R U OK Day for more great advice like the tips above. thanks to Liz Climo

02.01.2022 If you're choosing to celebrate Schoolies, make sure you brush up on your sun and surf safety skills today. Water and alcohol don’t mix - alcohol is a factor in 1 in 5 drownings. Always wise to stay out of the water (including the ocean, pools and spas) when drinking or taking drugs. Swimming at night, whether it is at the beach or in a swimming pool, is dangerous. Lifeguards are not on duty and help may not arrive until it's too late.... Remember to slip, slop, slap and seek shade - especially when drinking as the effects of alcohol increase after prolonged periods in the sun. Leave your budgie smugglers at home
