20.01.2022 #cuttingboard #class is going really well today. Break time for lunch whilst the glue sets. Thanks @sorrento_community.centre

16.01.2022 Went to my happy place this morning. I absolutely love visiting quality timber merchants who stock furniture grade timbers. Probably spent far too much $ but it’s all about potential. The timber list included Vic Ash, Redgum, Spotted gum, U.S Maple and U.S black walnut.

16.01.2022 Cutting board and keepsake box making classes are both available at a discount when booking via the Sorrento Community House to people with a pension card or health care card. https://www.sorrentocc.org.au//make-yourself-a-chopping-bo Thanks to the Mornington Peninsula Shire Council's community grants program for helping extend the experience to more people.

15.01.2022 Perks of having a home based studio is that I’ve booked it out for myself for the next 7 days thanks to a circuit breaker lockdown . That’s ok, lots to catch up on and finish off.

15.01.2022 My client doing the spice rack with the intricate finger joints has assembled and applied a first coat to his project. It’s really come up a beautiful colour. Not bad for recycled floorboards! #recycle #spottedgum #woodwork #firstcoat #fingerjoints #spicerack

13.01.2022 What a brilliant combination of colours for a cutting board. This large board has Redgum in the centre with a book matched spotted gum surrounding it. Vic Ash with U.S maple highlights near the edges. It was an absolute pleasure taking a new client through the process of making one of these. She had a blast and learned heaps about woodworking. #woodworking #cuttingboard #redgum #spottedgum #vicash #learnwoodworking

11.01.2022 Definitely a tricky job putting these angled bridal joints together, doing a test fit and measure to make sure I got it right! Has been heaps of fun getting my hand tools a bit of use. Now to figure out the glue up arrangement. #bridaljoints #woodworking #halflapjoint #havingsomuchfun

11.01.2022 Recently I had a client who wanted some help to make intricate finger joints using a special box making jig he was given as a present. It’s been such a fun process of helping him to resaw his spotted gum and to get perfect results on the finger joints. We were using very thin material at just 6mm thick but managed to eliminate any tear out and achieve a snug fitting joint by working together. These are some progress shots of what will end up as a spice rack! #woodworking #spottedgum #fingerjoint #portercabletools #learningsomethingnew #together @ Rye, Victoria

09.01.2022 First dry assembly of the main body and legs. Looking very nice so far! Now to get to work on the draw with a special feature built in. #needmoreclamps #woodworking #messmate #dryassembly

07.01.2022 Glue up time for this clients drumming stool seat. It’s a lamination of carefully contoured segments each with a gentle round over. Great recycling of old news to help keep the squeeze out from dripping onto the workbench. Haha #gocats #afl #woodworking #glueup

03.01.2022 This amazing project was built today by a new client, we picked out this beautiful feature board and put the knot front and almost centre. What a great finish and super clean joints. The knot has some great figure in it. #woodworking #boxmaking #figuredwood
