07.01.2022 Depression and anxiety are complex to understand, but an easy way to think about them can be to imagine anxiety as being on high alert and depression as running... on low battery. For some people who experience anxiety, it feels like too much: too many thoughts, too much stress, too many overwhelming emotions, and too much nervous energy. For some people experiencing depression it feels like not enough: not enough energy, needing to conserve energy, feeling down and flat It’s also possible to cycle through feeling anxious (high alert) and feeling depressed (low battery). It can be really tough coping with these feelings on your own, so remember that we're here, anytime and for any reason.
