19.01.2022 South East Melbourne Phoenix (SEMP) Virtual Basketball Competition Winners Marli (Ivanhoe Grammar School (Official School Page), Jarvis (Penleigh and Essendon Grammar School) and Elijah (Blackburn Primary School) were in an exclusive skills session with SEMP legends Kyle Adnam and Mitch Creek. It was a great practical and interactive session, covering warm-ups, drills, and then ended with a Question and Answer, where the competition winners got to ask these two basketball greats anything they wanted.

18.01.2022 Thursday the Team Vic 15 Years and Under Netball Team ran the second zoom session for the selected girls. The session built on drills from session one. We had our student assistant - Keeley Burgman - lead the girls in a warm-up. A great opportunity for Keeley to show what she can do. Everyone joined in the session with a smile on their face and performed really well in all activities. Well done team.

14.01.2022 On 11 November 1918, the guns of the Western Front fell silent after four years of continuous warfare. With their armies retreating and close to collapse, German leaders signed an Armistice, bringing to an end the First World War. From the summer of 1918, the five divisions of the Australian Corps had been at the forefront of the allied advance to victory. Beginning with their stunning success at the battle of Hamel in July, they helped to turn the tide of the war at Amiens i...n August, followed by the capture of Mont St Quentin and Pèronne, and the breaching of German defences at the Hindenburg Line in September. By early October the exhausted Australians were withdrawn from battle. They had achieved a fighting reputation out of proportion to their numbers, but victory had come at a heavy cost. They suffered almost 48,000 casualties during 1918, including more than 12,000 dead. In the four years of the war more than 330,000 Australians had served overseas, and more than 60,000 of them had died. The social effects of these losses cast a long shadow over the postwar decades.

The #TeamVic program not only provides the opportunities for students to compete at the national level and develop their sporting skills but, importantly, it helps with their personal growth in terms of developing lifelong skills, building resilience, and the social connections they create with other students across Aus...tralia. The #TeamVic program is an important component of the Victorian athlete development pathway. So let’s jump into it, see what we did there? The #2 Olympian we are announcing is Brooke Stratton who was part of the #TeamVic Track and Field program competing in Long Jump. This is not Brooke’s first time in the pit on an international stage, this is her 2nd Olympics (Rio 2016), which she can now add to the enormous list of achievements, which includes competing at nine other World Championships.
