18.01.2022 SCHUTE BELL CHARITY STEER 2020 In excess of $20,000.00 raised, despite auction cancellation. Since 1998 Schute Bell Badgery Lumby has held an annual charity steer auction at the Royal Easter Show to raise funds for the The Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute. ... This auction has grown and become a huge success and highlighted event at the show but like many show events this year is a little different. Under unusual circumstances the spirit of the auction and generosity has not been stopped. Robert Worner and John Gray of Schute Bell have still managed to raise $20,000.00 for the Victor Chang Foundation by way of a donation from twelve-time purchaser of the charity steer Mr Paul Ferry. His generosity was not isolated as there will be a further donation from the sale of the steer through 1888 Certified Butchery in Double Bay Sydney, after being processed by Breakout River meats of Cowra. The Steer was Bred by Terry & Maeline Griffen of the Teman Charolais Stud at Baradine in NSW and prepared by the students at St Stanislaus College Bathurst under the watch of Alec Clements. Schute Bells staff and all those involved in the preparation of the steer and previously years auctions are proud to continue this event for years to come no matter what obstacles may arise.
