23.01.2022 We like to make use of innovative technology and apply it in unconventional ways. Pictured here is a custom system for a local customer underwater 1080p IP camera, standard LED and light-bar LED with dimming combined to operate down a single polyurethane sheathed dual twisted pair cable.



23.01.2022 A Scielex Bluetooth Adaptor provides a simple wireless connection to most Mitutoyo products. Compatible with iPhone, Android, PC & Mac. Pictured here the adaptor is connected to an IP67 coolant proof Mitutoyo Solar Calliper. We enlisted the help of Webb Engineering - CNC Machining to extend the jaws of this calliper for a local client who needed a little extra reach from the callipers.

22.01.2022 A batch of submersible cameras and lights heading to Canada to be used on mining equipment. With marine grade aluminium housing, 6mm optical glass lens, and industry standard Deutsch connectors, these are manufactured to survive in demanding conditions.

20.01.2022 Custom made submersible LED Light Bars heading to New Zealand. These will be used on fish-net cleaning equipment and will replace existing lights that are too fragile. With a 9mm acrylic lens, stainless surround, industry standard Micro SubConn connector, and quality Samsung light panel, these will be up to the task!



19.01.2022 Final testing of a Shellfish Measuring Board. This unit is supplied with waterproof stainless scales for rapid logging of length/weight samples of Abalone and will be deployed locally in Tasmania. Complete with integrated mesh network it can also collect data from our Depth Loggers and GPS Data Loggers, and a 4G modem ensures that data is secure and immediately available. Built to survive all weather conditions.

Waterproof 1080p IP camera complete with slip ring cable spool, IP66 waterproof sunlight readable monitor, Windows 10 PC, all in a robust waterproof Pelican Case. NMEA input provides GPS overlay onto the video, while Scielex software enables real-time viewing and recording.

17.01.2022 Underwater camera and datalogger. These low cost cameras will be used for habitat mapping in local fisheries. Record intervals may be triggered by time and depth while GPS provides location when the camera returns to the surface. The 5Ah battery can supply hours of record time and months of standby time. Housing is PVC and ASA and waterproof to 100m. All designed and manufactured at our Kingston facility.



16.01.2022 A couple of Shellfish Measuring Boards ready to send to New Zealand. With custom firmware, these are made specifically to help manage the local abalone industry. These Measuring Boards can be supplied with a range of features including 4G upload and link to our diver depth data loggers.

13.01.2022 Custom made LED light blocks. These lights were made for an Australian client to be used with mine drilling equipment. They include an 800 lumen LED, tight spot optical lens, 6mm tempered glass face, all in a marine grade aluminium block. Shock-proof, dust-proof and waterproof.

10.01.2022 Another Fish Measuring Board ready for export! This one is heading to Chile where it will be used to assist in marine research activities. This waterproof, lightweight board can be supplied in a range of lengths, and options include RFID reader and loadcells for weight. 09.01.2022 When Aqua Clean Tas Pty Ltd needed a control system for their innovative net cleaner, they approached us to see what we could offer. We were able to supply a complete system, including submersible cameras & lights, hydraulic PWM with PS4 wireless controller, cables and harness. On-screen display shows important parameters including track drive, head speed, depth, pitch, roll and compass. All proudly designed and manufactured in Tasmania.



06.01.2022 A batch of depth and temperature data loggers heading to an Australian client. With QI wireless charge and lightweight mesh connectivity, these may be deployed on their own or linked to our GPS data loggers & measuring boards for automatic retrieval of data. These will provide vital information about fine scale catch effort data as well as providing feedback on diver safety. The loggers come with software to provide a high level of customisation. Proudly designed and manufactured in Tasmania!

05.01.2022 Twenty years of experience in electronics design and manufacturing together with a range of in-house tools put Scielex in a good position to be able to develop and deliver custom made electronic solutions. Pictured here are depth and location data loggers with mesh network connectivity and 3G/4G automatic upload. These will be used by fisheries research to determine fine scale catch effort data leading to a more sustainable fishery.

03.01.2022 Another batch of submersible cameras ready to send out. This set of thirty is heading to a local customer. We supply submersible cameras with a range of options including different material, modules, lenses and connectors.

03.01.2022 GoPro battery too small? With a 10.4Ah battery, this kit will power a GoPro Hero 8 camera together with a 700lm LED light for up to 14 hours. Robust and waterproof to 100m. This camera will be used to assess trawl nets to better understand how the fish are caught and work towards minimising by-catch.
