22.01.2022 Hey there Victor Harbor! Who says science isn't fun for adults? Science After Dark is! This inaugural Science Collective 'adults only' event involves wine tasting, healthy food, sex, music, hands-on science challenges, a smoke cannon, a twittering bicycle and more. Who said science was boring? Rob Mack will be discussing and offering a tasting of wines from local winery Aphelion which he and his wife Louise established in 2014. Aphelion has gained a strong reputation fo...r quality and value with a focus on grape varieties that thrive in the Mediterranean climate of McLaren Vale, producing stylish Grenache as well as other regionally emerging varieties, such as Mataro and Sagrantino. Then ABC Radio regular presenter Kris Messenger from bugs n slugs will be sharing with you some of the incredible and quirky mating habits of her favourite creepy crawlies. Inventor and TV presenter Mark Thomson will offer some tips on how to construct bizarre machines that have no useful purpose such as his twittering bicycle. His Henry Hoke series on ABC TV was a popular show for tinkerers! Local foodie Sarah Mitford-Burgess looks forward to providing you with an individually packaged healthy supper from her Real Food Life kitchen to accompany the wine tasting session. Finally local muso Ken will get your feet tapping to some old favourites while braver guests try to solve the puzzles on loan from Questacon, our national science centre. Aphelion wines will be available for purchase on the night. When? Saturday 26th June 2021 6:45pm - 9:15pm Where? Victor Harbor Recreation Centre. Tickets: $35 single; $59 double. Tickets are limited, so secure yours now for something a little different on Saturday night! https://events.humanitix.com/science-after-dark-at-victor-h See more
