01.01.2022 Im stoked to be a Chief Counter for BirdLife Australia and you can be a counter too. The Aussie Backyard Bird Count 2020 is just around the corner. Its the best... way any of us can get involved with some citizen science and help add valuable data nationwide about our amazing birds and their distribution. The whole family can be involved and all it takes is 20 mins sometime between the 19th -25th October. You can join me by registering here ; https://aussiebirdcount.org.au/?Costa You can do your count in your backyard, at the local park, at nan and pops place, wherever you like. If you dont have the app you can always fill out the forms on the website but the main ingredient you need is 20 minutes to sit or stand and observe what birds are around that location. There is a live launch of the event of Monday 19th and Ill let you now about that on the day. Heres links to the Birdlife Australia Website and Aussie Backyard BirdCount Website, also the Facebook Instagram and Twitter pages for all the info you need to know and lots of great facts. Ill be doing a few counts over the week and will go live on one of them and we can talk about our bird counting experiences. Let the family know, the grand kids, nieces, nephews, neighbours and have some fun supporting our birdlife and recording our biodiversity. After the year that has been this data is even more valuable to see just how our birdlife has faired given the bushfires and ongoing drought.
