24.01.2022 Have you ever thought about the role your abdominals play in the way you run? Correctly using your abdominals helps you manage the position of your pelvis, which influences the way you generate force with the big muscles of your hips (think glutes and hamstrings). Most of us have poor abdominal recruitment and strength which leads to compensatory running patterns and ultimately over use injuries (tendinopathy, sress fractures, strains etc.). ... Our running mechanics workshop will teach you exactly how to recruit and use your abdominals to help support better running patterns, avoiding injury and improving efficiency. 07.01.2022 Training around an injury If you happen to find yourself injured (these things happen), don't throw the baby out with the bathwater. There will almost always be something you can still do. Shoulder injury and can't back squat? Try a safety bar or an offset bulgarian split squat. Niggly back? Reduce the load with single leg variations. Injured one arm? Train the other. The benefits of continuing training and being active where you can far outweigh sitting back and doing nothing while you wait for everything to be perfectly healed. https://youtu.be/oAF8df3I07g

06.01.2022 Chest press The beloved chest press. Whether it be a barbell or dumbbell, you'll always find someone who complains from sore shoulders when benching. If we take a look at @rorytims position here, you can see that his shoulders actually leave the bench when pressing, resulting in a 'reaching' motion. Take a moment to check out these particular cues and see if this positional change can help improve your overall pressing position, allowing for a more efficient and safer technique. https://youtu.be/9z9MUNeJ2r8
