12.01.2022 Free pilot science workshop for Year 9-10 students. Youth Neuro Australia (YNA) will be running a pilot science workshop on Saturday 28 November at Sydney Univ...ersity, in preparation for our upcoming brainSTEMM launch in 2021. YNA's brainSTEMM program was devised in collaboration with the NSW Department of Education, striving to introduce Year 9-10 students to science as a way of thinking as they explore the nature of science through a series of innovative and engaging activities. brainSTEMM provides long-term benefits as it moves away from conventional knowledge-based workshops, instead cultivating creativity, critical thinking and ability in science communication to equip students with transferable skills useful in high school and beyond. The pilot will be a modified version of the program, with three breakout sessions in addition to discussions and an introduction to neuroscience. There are only 20 spots available for the pilot this year. To register for the program, head over to yna.org.au/pilot, and if you have further enquiries, including how to run the actual program at your school next year, contact us at [email protected] or 02 8957 1788.
