25.01.2022 Wow you’re a sustainable salon Yes, that correct!! We are part of the @sustainablesalonsanz community. Did you know this means we have the ability to recycle up to 95% of our salon waste?? HOW FREAKING AMAZING!... We are also aligned with the following companies which also have the same vision. @foilmefoils are the pretty foils that we use everyday. We go through 100’s of sheets of foils every single day. @foilmefoils are made from a percentage of recycled aluminium and are then put into our metals bin for double recycling @evohair Haircare bottles are made from recycled plastic, cruelty free, Australian own and made and all damaged Haircare bottles are donated to the homeless. HOW BEAUTIFUL @kevin.murphy.australia COMING SOON.. We have heard lately on the grapevine that people have said ‘oh i love Scissor & stone and would love to go there but they are just REALLY expensive’ We do realise that our salon is not going to be in everyone’s budget and that is absolutely fine and we totally respect that. However, quality does come at a cost.... So we wanted to explain a little WHY.. Our team has over 85 years combined experience and they deserve their weight in gold, we spend THOUSANDS of $$ on education each year to better ourselves as creatives and we use products that we believe are the BEST on the market. A colour like the one pictured will take hours to create, product usage will be high, it takes a lot of skill, our salon space is beautiful and well maintained AND this colour will last 4+ months before needing ‘THE WORKS’ done again. I think the reality is if you counted up how much you spend at another salon over 1 year and then the same with us, the cost would be similar but the salon visits would be less and this is something we pride ourselves on. Yes, we are not cheap, nor is that something we EVER strive to be. 04.01.2022 Believe it or not, hairdressing was always a dream of mine -I have always found myself migrating towards anything creative. I was an above average student and always did well at school and probably could have done anything I really put my mind to, however, hairdressing was it for me. When I initially made the decision of this career path, I received so much criticism and was told many a time, ‘you could become so much more than just a hairdresser!’ This statement, for a long ...time, definitely weighed down on my shoulders. I knew I loved this industry but I would say to people, ‘oh I’m just a hairdresser.’ I truly think at that time that’s probably what majority of hairdressers said to people when they were asked about their profession. Well, fast forward 14 years, and let me tell you now, I’m f*cking proud of being a hairdresser, and I’m proud of what I’ve been able to achieve! But most importantly, I still love my job after all this time, day in and day out, which is most important to me. This industry is incredible. I love the people, I love my craft. Every day is different and I love that my job allows me to work with some incredibly inspiring people, and it allows me to meet so many new people and to help make them feel great about themselves.
