25.01.2022 A friendly reminder to keep your feet off the dashboard when travelling in vehicles. This airbag was deployed under controlled conditions during drill and was filmed in slow motion.

22.01.2022 **A message from our Commissioner Paul Baxter** Today Fire and Rescue NSW pay tribute to all who have bravely served to protect our country. We have a close re...lationship with the armed forces, with many of our firefighters joining to serve the community after serving their country. This year we couldn’t attend services; so we join together in remembrance, as we stay apart. Lest we forget.

18.01.2022 At 0028hrs this morning, Fire and Rescue NSW Station 062 Bankstown and Fire and Rescue NSW Station 047 Revesby responded to a Car Fire in Condell Park. On arriv...al it was advised people were still inside the house with flames impinging on the property. As you're about to see, this is what it's like to get up close as a Firefighter when a quick attack is needed! #wateron #preparedforanything See more

17.01.2022 FURTHER TO OUR REPORT EARLIER TODAY. IMPORTANT INFORMATION - please share Fire and Rescue Response units have been monitoring the leakage of petrol into the sew...er line at Scone and have provided Hunter Valley Police with an update. They are still mindful that petrol is still in the sewer pipes and wish to advise residence in the effected area that they are advised not to use any equipment that may cause a spark, light a BBQ or have any open flames. 16.01.2022 UPDATE: the NO FIRE alert has been ended, as the fuel levels in the sewer system have dropped. Fuel contamination in parts of the Scone sewage system. As a prec...aution DO NOT LIGHT ANY FIRES - NO NAKED FLAMES - IN THE OPEN, anywhere between the Kelly St and Mount St intersection to the Bill Rose Sports Complex, Scone. Residents in the area have been initially advised by door knock. NSW Fire and Rescue are monitoring vapour levels in the area. HAZMAT, NSW Fire and Rescue and Council staff continued to flush the Scone sewer lines overnight to move the fuel contaminant into the Scone sewage treatment plant, where it can be safely contained. However fuel is still present in the sewer lines. Council water and sewer team have been investigating using in-pipe cameras, between Belmore Street and Guernsey Street (under Kelly Street) to find leaks or other damage. They may have to replace this section of sewer line. This will be done in consultation with the HAZMAT team. Council has been working with the Environment Protection Authority, Fire and Rescue NSW and NSW Police to determine the source of the fuel leak and render the area safe.

14.01.2022 COVID - 19 UPDATE There are a few changes that have taken place with the way Fire and Rescue NSW operates that you notice. We hope you understand and can help u...s through the next few weeks. Some if the changes include: We are cancelling all non essential community engagements so we won't be able to visit your school or childcare centre to pass on fire safety messages for a while. If you visit a fire station for any non life threatening issues we are not going to be able to let you in. You may notice fire trucks at emergencies with fire fighters sitting inside. We are minimising the amount of fire fighters contact with the community. If you see us sitting in our fire trucks and not getting out this is not us being rude. Feel free to give us a way from a distance we'll still wave back. We wont be able to show your kids our fire truck and let them sit in it for a while. And unfortunatly we won't be able to shake you hands for a while. Behind the scenes we are doing a lot of hard work to continously decontaminate our trucks, uniforms and fire stations to ensure us and our community are protected. Thanks for the support we could not do this without everyones support. #macarthur #wollindilly #corona #covid-19

09.01.2022 Absolutely heartbreaking news out of Victoria overnight. We grieve with every member of Victoria Police and every member of the wider emergency services family.

04.01.2022 Over the past twenty four hours, crews from 312 Gulgong have been assisting with a protracted hazardous materials incident in Scone, in the Upper Hunter. The in...cident, which involved a significant leak of unleaded fuel, required various resources from a number of Fire and Rescue NSW stations, and various other emergency services agencies. The incident was brought to a close late this afternoon, and our crews made the journey back home, just in time for dinner. 03.01.2022 We had a great night with the BA semi last night

02.01.2022 To most 343 is just a number. To nearly all firefighters around the world, it is a humbling reminder of the events that took place in New York on this day, 19 y...ears ago. This is because on 9/11, 343 New York City Fire Department (FDNY) firefighters did not finish their shift. The tragedy claimed the lives of 2977 innocent victims, and many continue to be impacted. To date, 227 additional firefighters have died with illnesses related to 9/11, with 27 names recently added to the FDNY World Trade Centre Memorial Wall. FRNSW shares deep and personal connections with FDNY, we will never forget the immediate and ongoing loss they were dealt and continue to deal with, all those affected are in our thoughts today.
