24.01.2022 Need a new sail wardrobe, speak to scooter today about your requirements. Cloth types and cuts which will change your sailing manoeuvres. Years of experience and knowledge, scooter will help design and constructs sails that work. Adapting them to your rigs set up and designing systems to suit. Furler, booms, travellers, ropes and hardware etc.

20.01.2022 Make sure you furl your Genoa well with UV protecting the sail cloth (as shown in the first photo) If it’s furled like the other photo, you will get UV damage to the exposed cloth. Make sure you check the lay of the cloth and if UV has deteriorated call me for a quote to replace the UV panels before it’s to late. If sun damage occurs, then the sail may need to be trimmed back losing sail area.

15.01.2022 Watch what metals you use on you rigging. Some none stainless steel products can react with stainless steel and course rust to take hold and compromise the strength or contribute to the failure of you equipment. It’s always good to check your rigging over before sailing. Also causing electrolysis around other fittings.

06.01.2022 I had the pleasure to visit the office of Wichard Profurl in Nantes in France and speak with the designers and technicians for Profurl. This was a very informative, discussing the innovation of these products. This technology making sailing a lot faster and safer to use. 02.01.2022 Rigging checks! Make sure you check your rigging before you venture, especially off shore. Photos below are taken from the top of a mast. Other than doing your own safety checks, fatigue of metals and rope condition should be checked over by a qualified rigger at least every 5 years. And replaced every 10 years for insurance. Make sure you check with your policy insurer on this and if buying a yacht check when last the rig had been changed or how old the rigging is. Ask for rigging certificates to show your insurer. Very important, Scooter
