19.01.2022 What is the best catch you have ever seen for Scoresby?
18.01.2022 All RDCA Club Presidents & Secretaries Please complete the survey by Sunday 20th Sept 6pm See flyer for more information. This is also available via the website.... https://docs.google.com//1FAIpQLSdnzL3tp6Ma8zHQap/viewform Welcome to the 2020/21 season, particularly to all the YVCA clubs joining us. Your Senior Committee has been active over the last month on the season preparation with the integration of the YVCA Senior Clubs and Umpires. We will be including 4 or 5 clubs into the RDCA Premier grades (not Trollope or Wilkins) with a separate Yarra Valley Zone covering 2 or 3 grades playing within the Yarra Valley. These matters, and many others, are being discussed by the RDCA / YVCA Integration Committee. A final decision on gradings cannot be made until all clubs have submitted their team entries with possible grounds due on 30th September. On the latter I would strongly encourage you to keep in touch with your local councils relevant officers as they have now started their ground allocations and we know that some grounds will not be available for part or all of the cricket season. As the year progresses it has become clear that we are not going to have a normal cricket season. That is 14 rounds consisting of 7 two-day games and 7 one-day games played on Saturdays. The RDCA Senior Committee is currently looking at a variety of options as to what the coming season may look like, but ultimately we can only do so much until we get clear return to play dates as dictated by the State Government. We are conducting a short survey to gather feedback from all our stakeholders Clubs, Players and Officials. We are asking that you please share this survey with your members and encourage them to complete it. We also ask that each club discuss the options as a committee and provide an official club response. All responses will be treated confidentially, and we will not be sharing how individuals or clubs responded. The more feedback and ideas we get the better. The information we receive here will help us make quicker and better decisions once we do know how many weeks are available. This means we can communicate the format and draws to the clubs as soon as possible. With our normal 24 Saturday season already impossible, we would like everyone to keep an open mind and consider all the possibilities to achieve the fairest and best season possible for everybody. Some key considerations before answering should include: 1. weighing up maximising games vs a fair draw as we may not be able to achieve both, and 2. longer innings and spells (2-day cricket) vs more innings and spells (1-day cricket). Please access the survey at this link RDCA SENIOR COVID RESPONSE SEASON 20/21 with the deadline for completion Sunday 18th September 2020 at 6:00 pm. If you experience any problems with the link please contact Matt Thomas at the below email and he will send you a Word copy. As always if you have any questions please contact Matt Thomas at [email protected] or on 0407 874 894. Many thanks. Regards Pat Meehan RDCA Senior Chairperson

15.01.2022 Who is the biggest candidate at Scoresby?
15.01.2022 So excited to announce the landscaping and playground upgrade works to the village green in Scoresby Village are complete and open to the community from today. ...The new playground is perfect for toddlers - preschoolers, with age appropriate equipment in place. It is fully fenced to provide peace of mind to parents that the children cant be put at risk by the adjacent car parks. There is plenty of seating in the Village Green, perfect for anyone who just wants to sit and relax (while enjoying takeaway from one of the many terrific local eateries). I am really proud of what we have done to improve this area and cannot wait until the trees, plants and flowers are established - it will be so pretty when in full bloom. Location: Scoresby Village, Village Green. Nestled between two of Knoxs most historic buildings - the Scoresby School house (built in 1872) and Uniting Church (built in 1874). The original Scoresby Village emerged in this location in the early 1870s through local farming families coming together to finance and build local community infrastructure. The area has a rich history. Address: Darryl Street, Scoresby.

14.01.2022 Tonights history making AGM online was a huge success! It was not only an opportunity to get the official formalities completed whilst in lockdown, but a chance to catch up with our friends. As you can see in the photo, we are all really enjoying each others company! What else would you want to do on a Wednesday night? As you can see there were a few people missing who rated the Big Brother Grand Final higher than the Scoresby Cricket Club AGM. When we got down to business,... there were a few new roles presented, and some new people appointed to very important positions. We would like to thank the committee from last season for their outstanding job. In particular Liz Bourke, who tonight finished up as President. Thanks Liz for the incredible time & effort that you have put in. The roles appointed for the 2020/21 season are as follows... Executive Committee President - Johnny Cunningham Vice President - Matthew Chawulak Secretary - Daniel Tubb Junior Coordinator - Raj Kurup Treasurer - Rowan Jennion General Committee Roles Child Safety Officer - To Be Advised Junior Blast Coordinator - Jamie Purdon Junior Events Coordinator - Daniel Tubb/Tarlissa Cunningham Senior Events Coordinator - Evan Brookes Social Media Manager - Jamie Purdon Veterans Coordinator - Mark Phillips Bar Manager - Ian Bevis Canteen Manager - Vacant (due to the current pandemic it is unlikely that we will be able to safely run a canteen) Sponsorship Manager - Liz Bourke Apparel Manager - Ryan Murray The new President, Johnny Cunningham was eager to step up to the position and we know that he will do a fantastic job, along with Matthew Chawulak as Vice President, and the rest of the Executive Committee. The committee will be very supportive and are keen to offer assistance when necessary. Congratulations to everyone for putting their hands up and volunteering. It is greatly appreciated and we are right behind you all. We dont know yet what the upcoming season will look like, but we are all looking forward to the first time we can return to the club and enjoy a drink with friends. Heres to success in season 2020/21! #GoScoresby

08.01.2022 Always working on something when I bat. Atm Ive been working on keeping my head and eyes level. I felt like I was falling over and not lining up the ball well ...enough. Subsequently feeling like I lost my off stump at times. Nothing too complicated. If there is any advice I can give a batsman it is to "keep it simple". You cant hit the ball if you dont watch it. Worry about that first then start chipping away at the rest. #cricket #qld #bulls #batsmanship See more
