11.01.2022 Q: Should I bring my seeker friend to GROW (or might it be too much for her??) A: Our desire is that women of all stages, from the mature believer to the not-y...et Christian, would benefit from GROW, so wed love you to bring your friend! We pray that God might draw her to Him through clear, warm explanations of the gospel. There will be an opportunity for her to respond to the gospel quietly in her own heart and some guidance for starting out in faith. A few things you might be worried about... Will she be offended? Wherever the news of Jesus is told, there will be some who take offense. However, we will be doing everything we can to cause no unnecessary offence in what we say and do. We want Jesus to take centre stage at every point. Will she feel uncomfortable? Its natural for someone new to any type of gathering to be nervous. Be assured that no-one will ask your friend to pray out loud or answer questions. She wont be singled out or asked to do anything up front. Our speakers wont be doing anything stranger than teaching the Bible. If your friend isnt familiar with the way Christians pray and sing in large groups, perhaps explain this to her beforehand, and reassure her that she is free to do whatever is most comfortable. Will she feel overwhelmed by the content? The best way to avoid information overload is to be a bit prepared. Offer to read 2 Timothy with your friend beforehand so she is primed to get the most out of the talks. Share our Spotify playlist of conference songs with her. Make sure you check-in with her after the conference to debrief. See our separate post for more details on this one (link in first comment). Have confidence to bring your seeker friend to GROW 2019 Go to http://qcca.org.au/grow/ to register

11.01.2022 Join us at Scots this Sunday as we explore the uncomfortable moment described in Luke chapter 7 when a woman of questionable reputation gushes over Jesus. As so many look in judgment Jesus declares this woman forgiven, her love for Jesus evidence of her changed heart. Welcome to the messiness of hospitality. What would it look like for the Church today to not stand in judgment but warmly embrace all who come to Jesus?
