The renewal of the Joan Sutherland Theatre has received an award in the ‘Small Project Architecture’ category of the Australian Institute of Architects, NSW Chapter Awards. It has been a privilege to support the Opera House’s renewal works over the last 9 years, and to have the opportunity to facilitate the upgrades to such a culturally significant heritage building. 22.01.2022 After accepting entries from the local community, the 9,000 sqm park in Kirrawee has been officially named ‘Biddy Giles Park’. The name adds an important layer to the sites’ cultural and indigenous significance, a thread that remained constant throughout the development of the site. Biddy Giles was born around 1820; she had extensive knowledge of Dharawal land from the south side of the Georges River to Wollongong. Sutherland Shire Council Landscape Director Esther Dickin...s said of the news, The Scott Carver team are so pleased to see Biddy Giles acknowledged through the naming of the new park. The link to the traditional custodians is so very important and we thank Zac for providing this connection. As designers nothing makes us happier than delivering a new space to a community and seeing people enjoying it we hope to see everyone there soon!. Designed by Scott Carver, the 9,000m2 park features 2,500m2 of amenity lawns surrounded by an extensive landscape of native vegetation interwoven by multiple seating and picnic areas, a state of the art playground, striking multi-use court, contemporary adventure play and informal sports tables. 19.01.2022 [News] Congratulations to our Client Billbergia Group on an exceptional win at the Urban Taskforce Development Awards last night! Marina Square received an award in the medium-rise metro apartments development category - the 2 residential towers now stand with 750 apartments across 25 stories, and with 12,000 Square Metres of Urban Retail as a key anchor for residents and the surrounding community, the new development creates a hub of entertainment and amenity including a Coles, fresh food, health and wellbeing offers, a medical centre, lifestyle stores and indoor and outdoor dining. It was a pleasure working with them to visualise the project and realise its potential within the mixed-use sector.

The Bridge provides a safe and accessible connection for the community from the west coming to enjoy the amenity of The Canopy and the wider Lane Cove Town Centre. Integral to Lane Cove’s community aspirations, The Canopy transforms the previous site into an abundant retail... precinct fronted by a naturalised sandstone wall and punctuated by a treetop park and seating areas. The jewel in the crown is a vibrant public domain that will provide much-needed open space in the heart of Lane Cove village. 14.01.2022 Scott Carver is honoured to announce our recent win in the National Design Competition for the new southern entrance at the Australian War Memorial. The Australian War Memorial is an enduring, culturally significant symbol of remembrance that commemorates those that gave their lives for our nation. It is a physical representation of pride, honour, courage and sacrifice. It is our history living through the memory of our stories, a national institution. The new southern entrance is the beginning and end of the journey through the Memorial Proper and a place to orientate and connect, through both the physical and the intellectual. It is a place to commemorate those who served and honour who they are; to reflect on what they experienced; and to understand the record they left behind.

06.01.2022 Construction is progressing on this exciting Residential development, due for delivery Q1 2021. Our design vision seeks to leverage the existing local infrastructure, amenities, cafes and schools to positively contribute to the future residential identity and sense of community in Kogarah North. The proposal explores in its design and articulation, a new urban character and typology for medium/high denisity housing in Kogarah: Apartment dwellings which are afforded the same ...amenity, residential/domestic identity and sense of neighbourhood belonging, typically ascribed to single detached garden homes or terraces. The design aims to activate the local street character and communal spaces to maximise the opportunities for lively casual interaction with one’s neighbours. This creates a constant connection and re-connection with the neighbourhood, community and the precinct’s urban environment to instill a sense of community identity, place and belonging.
