25.01.2022 During this time of Chuseok, and on the eve of Gaecheonjeol, it was a pleasure to meet with my friend the Korean Consul-General Sangwoo Hong to discuss how Korea is managing their response to COVID-19, and share lessons from our New South Wales experience. This will be a very different Chuseok for those in Korea and here in the NSW Korean community, and I would like to wish all of the Korean community Chuseok jal ji nae sae yo. 19.01.2022 We're committed to the creation of jobs, jobs, and more jobs - and construction will drive the way to achieving this goal. I joined Minister for Families, Communities and Disability Services Gareth Ward at the new Anglicare Sydney Minto Village site, where we participated in the top out ceremony - an ancient ceremony involving placing a tree and signing the top most point of a new construction project. This fantastic new 7 building facility consists of a residential aged care facility and 220 retirement village apartments - with 110 being supported through the Social and Affordable Housing Fund - and has created 2,000 jobs during the construction period - with 70 permanent jobs once the facility is operating. Supporting construction = supporting jobs !

19.01.2022 Well done NSW - great testing figures!

18.01.2022 #Breaking - Queensland border to open to all of NSW as of December 1! I'm really glad to see that common sense has prevailed, which will allow families to reunite and businesses to get back to work.

18.01.2022 Eased COVID-19 restrictions are now in place. Here’s a a reminder of what’s in place from today.

17.01.2022 7 days of 0 local cases. Keep it going NSW

17.01.2022 After what has been a year that many of us would rather forget, I thought that I I would take this opportunity to wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas and all the very best wishes for the New Year. Many of us have been looking forward to this Christmas and New Year as a new beginning, where we could leave the difficulties of 2020 behind. Unfortunately, the recent COVID outbreak has reminded us all that we are still living through a global pandemic and there will ...constantly be twists and turns. This Christmas will be like no other with border closures, visitor restrictions, thousands in isolation across the State and many participating in online church services. Our community has shown resilience through this year, it’s shown that we can come together and I think we are all reminded of how lucky we are to live in Australia and particularly New South Wales, where we have fared better than most through this challenging time. My thoughts and best wishes are with those on the front line - our valiant health professionals, contact tracing teams, police, and everybody who will be working hard over the Christmas period in order to ensure that we all remain safe as we navigate this pandemic. I also send my thoughts and wishes to those who are in self isolation over the Christmas period. Your sacrifice is not only protecting yourself and your loved ones, but protecting everybody in New South Wales. I would like to thank you for all of your support throughout the year, for the work you have done and for the individual sacrifices you have made throughout the year to help our State be in the position it is today. Once again, from my family to yours, Merry Christmas.

15.01.2022 If you're going away this weekend, make sure that you get to your destination safely. Double demerits are now in force for the long weekend, with NSW Police Force targeting speeding. Stay safe, and enjoy the long weekend!

15.01.2022 More families can attend community sports, music ensembles, and school camps can proceed, and some dancing at weddings is now allowed under a relaxation of COVID-19 safety rules. The changes mean that: More than one parent can attend community sporting activities... Up to 20 people in the official Wedding Party may now dance For schools : Community Languages Schools Program will recommence face to face learning Interschool activities can recommence (from Sept. 26) Playing wind instruments, singing and chanting is permitted (with strict restrictions) Year 6 formals and graduations are permitted High school formals are permitted from November 12 (to limit HSC disruption) Excursions and camps can resume Kindergarten orientation, Year 7 transitions can resume These restriction relaxations are in line with health advice, and in line with the low case numbers that we have seen.

15.01.2022 COVID-19 RESTRICTIONS EASED #Breaking news - from 12:01AM on Friday morning, COVID-19 restrictions in the Greater Sydney, Central Coast and Wollongong will be eased. Hospitality venues, function centres, and other areas that were covered by the 4 square metre rule now revert to the 2 square metre rule (with the exception of gyms).... Weddings and funerals will be capped to 300 attendees. Masks will remain compulsory on public transport - including taxis and Ubers - but will no longer be mandatory for other areas including hospitality venues and places of worship. It is still strongly recommended that masks be worn if you cannot guarantee social distancing, or if you have additional risk factors. It is important to remember that we are still living with the global pandemic, and it is critical that you get tested should you show any COVID-19 symptoms.

11.01.2022 We want to get more people returning to work - but we need to ensure that safety comes first. We've heard how people are concerned about social distancing and safety when travelling on our rail networks - and that's why we've today introduced COVID safe travel notifications on the Opal app, complementing other existing measures including additional cleaning and green dots. This new feature provides real time alerts on how many people are using a particular service, using real time and predictive data - allowing you to make an informed decision on your travel plans. 10.01.2022 Korea is a fantastic trading partner to NSW - they're our third largest export market and our fourth largest two-way trade partner. I was honoured to give the opening remarks at the NSW-Korea Business Forum today - and to again catch up with Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Sydney Sangwoo Hong, a great supporter of NSW.

10.01.2022 Electric vehicles have many benefits - but right now, they're not paying their fair share. Did you know that when you fill your car up with fuel you're paying 42.3c per litre in fuel excise, which helps pay for the roads we drive on? EVs don't use fuel, and therefore are not paying towards the roads - despite having the same impact on them. The Australian Automobile Association, representing the nation’s peak motoring bodies including The NRMA, has released research s...howing 80% of Australians want electric vehicle owners to contribute to transport costs. I spoke recently on this in Parliament - watch what I had to say

08.01.2022 Almost 22,000 businesses are now using the Service NSW QR code system which is easy to use, and safe. Electronic registration systems such as QR codes are now mandatory for recording the names and contact details of patrons at venues. QR codes are easy to use, and help NSW Health with rapid contact tracing should it be required. The information provided is securely stored for 28 days for the sole purpose of contact tracing and can be instantly accessed by NSW Health if needed.... After this time, it is destroyed. For customers who do not have access to a smartphone, venues should record their contact details and time of entry using an electronic device. If there is an internet outage, venues can record the necessary contact details manually and then enter them electronically, for example into a spreadsheet such as Excel. Sign up for your Service NSW QR code now - https://bit.ly/35TDfa1

04.01.2022 Coming soon - the new Fairfield Showground Grandstand! Today I joined Mayor of Fairfield Frank Carbone at the redeveloped Fairfield Showground, where the NSW Government has provided $7 million for the construction of the new $10 million grandstand as part of our COVID recovery stimulus package and our commitment to creating jobs, jobs, and more jobs. This project will provide a 1,000-seat grandstand featuring tiered seating, change rooms and amenities, kitchen, bar and cantee...n facilities, ticket booth and social and VIP viewing areas. The new grandstand will help the redeveloped Fairfield Showground become one of the leading community sport and recreation facilities in south west Sydney. It is the next stage of the $28 million Showground redevelopment, which already includes the completed festival arena, covered festival space, FIFA-accredited synthetic all-weather field, international turf sports field and multipurpose amenities building. 03.01.2022 Latest update from Gladys Berejiklian and Brad Hazzard on new restrictions for NYE in Greater Sydney: 5 visitors to your home 30 for outdoor gatherings #COVID19nsw

03.01.2022 The Northern Beaches community and businesses did an outstanding job in helping control the spread of COVID-19 during the recent outbreak, and unfortunately the lockdown had a significant impact on many small businesses within the area. To support those businesses that have done it tough, we've announced hardship grants for Northern Beaches based small businesses and not for profit groups that have seen a significant decline in turnover due to the lockdown. Eligible small businesses and NFP's who have suffered a 30% or greater decline can receive a $3,000 grant, while those who have suffered a 50% or greater decline can receive a $5,000 grant. More information on the grants and how to apply will be made available on the Service NSW website in the coming weeks.

01.01.2022 Farmers are the backbone of our food chain, and have been working hard through drought and the COVID-19 pandemic to ensure that we have the food and fibre we depend on.
