25.01.2022 Scott recently went on a fishing trip in Tasmania, where he was introduced to ThermaDry Polypro Merino Possum Fingerless Gloves by fly-fishing guides. Well known to the fly-fishing scene down south, Thermadry gloves are made from a combination of merino wool, possum fur, polypropylene and elastane. Not only do they do a superb job of keeping your fingies warm, the wicking nature of the polyprop fabric draws moisture away from the skin. It didn't take Scott long to figure out... these would be great for kayak fishing, so after trying them out for the duration of his holiday he was so impressed he tried to buy the company. 18.01.2022 It's been interesting times for retail operations over the past 12 - 18 months, with Covid changing the way a lot of things work. While our website has served us well over the years, we've encountered some struggles with various features (and lack of features) to facilitate the rapidly changing landscape of mail order trends. Specifically, addressing frequently requested services such as express post, international post, click & collect, buy-now- pay-later options at checkout... has been a challenge that we were determined to address. The more we looked into it the more obvious it became that our best option was to start from scratch using completely new tech. In the process we've made some major changes to the structure of the site, partly to make it easier to navigate content, but also to facilitate our ever growing range of products. We've also updated a lot of content along the way and added some new products as well. We're aiming to launch the new site later today, which means that the current site will go down for some time (hopefully only an hour or so). Providing no problems are encountered during the upgrade the new site should be live by the end of the day. The new site is better in pretty much every way and should provide a smoother experience for all. Unfortunately, however, because this is a complete upgrade (as opposed to a migration) we are unable to transfer user data to the new site. This means that previous mail order customers will have to create a new account next time they purchase something from our site.

18.01.2022 Weve found that some of our customers werent digging the 3-rod holder mount up front on the Maverick, instead opting to use tracks for rod holders. So we took our remaining stock of Blue & Orange Mavericks, removed the crossbar and 3rd rod holder, and fitted rod holders to the tracks with Railblaza Suremounts, and have trimmed back the price to suit. Were clearing these out at $699.00 and theyre not going to last long at that so get on it

16.01.2022 We kept our mouths shut about it because Hobie kept their mouths shut about it (probably because there was no stock available at the time), but sometime in 2019 there was a stealth buff to the Compass rudder blade. Now with more surface area (roughly 1.5cm extra width) the newer rudder blade will offer a bit more purchase and improved steering performance. These rudder blades have always been standard on Compass Duos and Outbacks, but are now also present on Compasses. If yo...uve got a 2018 or early 2019 model, you might want to look into upgrading. Luckily for you, we now have stock If you want to check which size your Compass rudder blade is, measure it across at the middle point. Smaller blades are about 13cm across the middle. 13.01.2022 Weve been getting a lot of questions on when well be receiving more stock of Lovig pants so were pleased to report some news on that front. Version 3 of the Lovig waterproof pants are currently in the process of being shipped from our manufacturer and we expect them to arrive within 4 - 6 weeks. Version 3 of the Lovig pants have a couple of new features, one of which we will tease now. Pictures say a thousand words, so weve attached 3000 words worth of pictures below. Yes, V3 pants will feature a zipper (what a relief!) And thats not all... but youll have to tune in early next week for more teasing, as well as a pre-order program, which will offer attractive introductory pricing. Watch this space!
