20.01.2022 Have you seen some headlines in the last year on 'feral cats cover 98.8%' of Australia and 'cats kill 1 Million birds per day in Australia'? They are some of th...e results that are coming out of a TSR Hub project which is collating and analysing large and diverse sets of data to improve our understanding of feral cat impacts and how to mitigate them. You can learn more about the project on our website. Introduced predators such as feral cats and foxes have a severe impact on native species in Australia, particularly among small and medium-sized mammals and ground-dwelling birds. Better knowledge about feral cats and other predators is important to guide conservation work to recover these species. 19.01.2022 Be on the look out for #wilddogs Autumn may be providing us with a welcome break from the heat of summer but it also signals the time when wild dog activity inc...reases as wild dogs go in search of a breeding partner and establish territories which can be defended aggressively, often to the detriment of domestic dogs who are seen as a threat or encroaching on the wild dogs territory. North Coast Local Land Services is asking landholders affected by wild dog attacks to report attacks to local Biosecurity staff and to help reduce attacks either by working with existing wild dog control groups or forming new groups, if needed. You can also report wild dog sightings via #FeralScan - www.feralscan.org.au or download the app to your smart phone.
