24.01.2022 I had an absolutely awesome time in Te Anau this weekend for the Kepler Challenge and Luxmore Grunt Mountain Run I was a little nervous and apprehensive leading into this race. I knew it was going to take me well outside my comfort zone and test me in a way I've not been tested before. It's not an overly long race for me and these trails would be some of the fastest trails I've raced on in quite a long time. The Kepler Track is absolutely insane!! Lush green Beech Forests... and some smooth silky trails. I'm over the moon to take 2nd place overall in 4hr19mins for the 59km race behind a flying Daniel Jones and with the bro Weston Hill rounding out the podium. Massive thanks to the race organization for putting on a fantastic race and I hope to see you again in 2021!! Vibram

23.01.2022 Such an epic and amazing experience heading up to the Franz Josef Glacier. The glacier has retreated over 100km in the last 100 years. It was pretty mind blowing to think where it used to be. Stoked to be able to do the Glacier landing and for Sienna to finally be able to eat some snow

20.01.2022 Absolutely unreal to finally run in the New Zealand Trail Championships/ Crater Rim Ultra on the weekend. I had high hopes for this race up until about a month ago but then took a fall in training and needed 2 weeks completely off training. Not quite the ideal prep but standing on the start line I was pumped and excited to bash heads with NZ's top trail runners. A MASSIVE congrats to Weston Hill on the win. You're motivating me to train harder brother, I'm pumped for some sum...mer adventures together too 4hr38mins on that course is seriously f**king legit and world class, none of us had a chance today with you running like that. Congrats also so Vajin for storming home hard to take a very well deserved 3rd place Thanks to Liz & Sienna and all my family for making an awesome day even more incredible. 19.01.2022 I don't know if it gets much better than that... 11.2km, 1444m+ and a little under 3hrs climbing and scrambling up and over mountains in Arthur's Pass National Park. I checked out the Rome Ridge Ascent to Avalanche Peak for the first time today and it certainly didn't disappoint ... Day one complete, ready for some more tomorrow

15.01.2022 #tuesdaythoughts I read of a man who stood to speak at a funeral of a friend. He referred to the dates on the tombstone from the beginningto the end. He noted that first came the date of birth and spoke of the following date with tears but said what mattered most of all was the dash between those years.... For that dash represents all the time they spent alive on earth and now only those who loved them know what that little line is worth. For it matters not, how much we own, the carsthe housethe cash. What matters is how we lived and loved and how we spend our dash. So, think about this long and hard; are there things you’d like to change? For you never know how much time is left that still can be rearranged. To be less quick to anger and show appreciation more and love the people in our lives like we’ve never loved before. If we treat each other with respect and more often wear a smileremembering that this special dash might only last a little while. 05.01.2022 The Whole Hog 54km, 2800m+ Feeling so lucky to be able to stand on another start line in 2020 Congrats to everyone else who ran in the Whole Hog, Piglet and Teacup races too A massive thankyou to Jono and the team at Ultra NZ for putting on an epic race. Also, I know we ran the 'C' course but I think we need to rename them A+, A, and A- as they are all out of this world courses to race on I'm already looking forward to running this event again in 2021! We profile Professional Ultra Running Athlete Scotty Hawker who will be lining up for his first crack at the event this year. At this time of the year Scotty is normally based in Europe and would have just finished the famous UTMB event, also known as the world cup of trail running. Last year he placed 3rd in this incredible 171km running event that has over 10,000m of climbing in it. 01.01.2022 It's been so refreshing getting ready for a "shorter" Ultra. Working on some areas that I don't normally focus on so much and feeling fast again. Thank you to my coach David Roche for guiding me through this process and through all the ups and downs. I'm beyond excited for race day!
