Write down everything that’s irrelevant or not serving your time well so you can manage your time more effectively. For example; texting, frequent email checking, social media scrolling, watching too much tv or Netflix.... Here are some tips to help you manage your tasks and responsibilities more effec...tively. Get up an hour earlier. Prioritise your to do list the night before. Meal plan and prep your food for the week. Lay your clothes out the night before. Remove distractions. Turn off the tv. Put your phone in another room. Time block similar tasks. Eat the frog. Do the most important, challenging and urgent task on your list first. Stop multi tasking. If you try to do too many things at once you won’t finish those tasks to a high standard. 07.01.2022 SPARK JOY Are you a fan of the KonMari method of organising? I feel like now more than ever, many of us are feeling inspired to get more organised, especially since we’ve been spending so much more time at home.... I love Kondo's methods and apply them to my home as well as my client's homes. But how do we keep our space organised and tidy as we first left it, and keep that joy lingering in our home? (especially with all family members at home 24/7 right now) It all comes down to creating routines so that it becomes second nature. For example: Clear all flat surfaces. Dining tables, kitchen benches and nightstands tend to be places where things pile up. Make it a part of your nightly routine to ensure everything left on a flat surface is put in its place. Soon enough it will be like brushing your teeth! Store a ‘get rid of’ bag in your closet. Each time you try on a clothing item and take it off again because it is unflattering or you don't like it, put it in the bag. Once the bag is full, donate, sell or re-home these pieces. It'll keep your wardrobe streamlined and save you doing huge clean outs. Just do the dishes! Load the dishwasher or clean those pots and plates in the sink as soon as you've finished eating. It only takes five minutes and will keep your kitchen uncluttered and smelling fresh. A couple minutes here and there saves time later on - trust me! 06.01.2022 Hmmmmm...... To decanter? Or not to decanter? I’m a huge fan of ditching bulky packaging when organising pantries. Not only does storing your dry goods in airtight clear containers maximise pantry space and keep your food fresh, it will save you from buying duplicates of items you already have that may be hiding away amongst the chaos. You can actually see when something is running low.... I always encourage my clients to stick to the one brand and style to ensure the containers stack neatly. You will not only maximise vertical storage space, your pantry will also look a lot more streamlined.
