25.01.2022 Due to the Corona Virus Pandemic, we are unfortunately unable to operate our lodges as usual. Due to government restrictions, we have been forced to make changes to how our ski lodges operate. Lodges have been locked to a maximum number of beds which is far lower than our normal capacity. All scouting, individual room and school group bookings must now be cancelled in line with government restrictions placed on all lodges across the Alpine Industry. Family and friend booking...s can be made with restrictions on the number of guests. WF Waters will have a maximum of 20 guests able to book and stay in the lodge from a maximum of 7 households. The Scout Alpine Adventure Centre (SAAC) will be able to have a maximum of 18 guests from 6 households. Both lodges will have an onsite manager to ensure Covid 19 guidelines are followed. Whilst we understand many will be disappointed with this news, we are trying to make the best of a difficult situation which has resulted in many other lodges at Mt Baw Baw not being able to open at all. 18.01.2022 Snow guns are working hard at Hut run and the toboggan run. Keep up the good work snow crew. not long now.
17.01.2022 Property check this morning! Photo taken by Wesley @1stTraralgonJoeyScouts note: we were already working on the resort this weekend. Resort is closed to public.
14.01.2022 Aldi chains...... Ok. I've seen these being peddled second hand for up to $100. Aldi sold them off at end of season for $29. Apart from that, several resorts ha...ve banned them as they are quite frankly, unsafe. We use and recommend V2 Traction. Other good brands are Konig and Thule. Regardless of where you buy them be sure to invest in quality chains and don't risk disaster See more
13.01.2022 Congratulations to our Bookings Officer Caroline on receiving the Scouts Australia Meritorious Service Award today, awarded for Meritorious or praiseworthy service to the Association for a period of at least 6 years. Caroline has worked tirelessly for many years managing the bookings of WF Waters Lodge and since 2018 has also managed our bookings at the Scout Alpine Adventure Centre. Thank you Caroline for all you do.
12.01.2022 Good to know! Make sure you have chains!
12.01.2022 COVID UPDATE: unfortunately due to the current lockdowns in Melbourne Mt Baw Baw has decided to close midweek and only open on weekends if there is sufficient natural snow cover. Snow machines have all been turned off. We have had to make the difficult decision to close both WF Waters and SAAC and send our lodge managers home. We know this is disappointing news but we simply cannot afford to keep the lodges running with only income from regional Victoria. If anything change...s after the lockdown, we will keep you posted but it is unlikely the resort will reopen this season Thankyou to everyone who has supported us so far and those who we know will be ready and willing to support us over the summer and next winter as we can reopen. 11.01.2022 Just an update on the lodge: We can have people from Melbourne up, but you do require a COVID test at the moment. Getting to the mountain is also a challenge. The Tourist Rd (the bitumen one) was washed away completely during last week's storms. It will take a significant amount of time to fix this and it is likely, the South Face Rd will be the only access this season.

08.01.2022 This also applies to the baw baw trails. No snow shoes = no walking. Hiking boots and snow boots are NOT acceptable. It’s not only dangerous for you but also the people coming after you.
07.01.2022 Meet Steph! She’s one of our two awesome lodge managers this season! How lucky are we?
07.01.2022 Got nothing on this coming weekend? We could really do with a hand doing some painting and general tidy up at the lodge. Contact [email protected] if you’re able to come up and help us out!

05.01.2022 Kathmandu named Mount Baw Baw one of the best mountains for skiing in Australia. Check out what they had to say!
04.01.2022 Feel like a ski next week??
04.01.2022 Have you made your ski trip booking yet? We have some school holiday midweek availability for families as well as a weekend in June and the Queens birthday long weekend. Remember: Baw Baw has a lot of snow making and the factory has been pumping for a few weeks now. Pic below is of Hut Roll after the factory, guns and a very nice 20cm+ snowfall over Friday/Saturday. Email [email protected] to make your booking! Don't miss out, it's going to be a brilliant season.
03.01.2022 Fantastic time had by all!
03.01.2022 Reminder: South Face Rd is likely to be your only access this year. We do not recommend the small dirt roads that are still accessible around the Tourist Rd.
