25.01.2022 As we learnt from the Fundamentals of Scouting, a big part of Scouts is making a positive contribution to our communities. The Special Interest Area Creating a Better World is used when doing a project that contributes to your local, national or international community. Projects for this SIA could include participating in Clean Up Australia Day, volunteering at your local animal shelter, raising money for a good cause and so much more! These projects should also be registered as a Messenger of Peace Project on www.scouts.org so that Scouts from around the world can see your project and be inspired for their own! : Agoonoree #ReadySetScout #SpecialInterestArea #CreatingaBetterWorld #MessengerOfPeace

18.01.2022 The Adventure and Sports Special Interest Area expands on the areas of physical personal prowess in ways that are not covered in the Outdoor Adventure Skills. Does a Scout want to learn how to swim a new stroke, run a new distance, kick a goal from the 50m line, or follow in the footsteps of their ancestors? This is their opportunity to cross over beyond the traditional Scouting Outdoor Adventures to develop their skills and interests further! 17.01.2022 Today marks the beginning of National Child Protection Week, where we acknowledge the many ways big and small we can all make a difference in the lives of children and young people. Empowering our children and young people is at the heart of our organisation and underpins all the work we do and the decisions we take. We are committed to safeguarding the youth in our care, and creating an environment where all our members are safe, supported and protected. For more information about how we achieve this please see our website.
