10.01.2022 The ICF have recently announced that they have proposed to add 2 new medals with a new event in the men’s and women’s extreme slalom. Sounds great but it has left athletes frustrated as it comes at the expense of a current, still unannounced, men and women’s event. The ICF have defended their decision stating that the International Olympic Committee have reduced the quota for canoeing athletes by 12and that although extreme slalom is relatively new and less competed, they hope that it will be more attractive to the younger generation and increase the interest in canoeing. What are your thoughts? https://www.canoeicf.com//why-icf-supporting-extreme-slalo

07.01.2022 Learning to speak with a loss of hearing must be extremely challenging, and that’s why we are proud to announce that proceeds from our Maroochy River Race will be donated to Hear and Say in Nambour. A not for profit organisation dedicated to helping children with hearing loss, teaching them to listen and speak. Hats off to the work these wonderful people do in our community. https://www.hearandsay.com.au/about-us/our-story

06.01.2022 Another unfortunate victim of Covidhopefully it’ll be back next year

04.01.2022 It's important to keep your power at the front of your stroke, and whip your exits out quickly. To help with this try using the cue: "Keep the power at your feet." This means try and reach to where your feet are, place the blade cleanly, load up your stroke early, and whip the exits out.

03.01.2022 Throughout 2020, our paddlers on the Peak Performance programs found a new way to training. This new way wasn't me smashing them week on week, nor was it them h...aving to have 2-3 days off the water after every hard session. It was the journey that we all went on and the education along the way. They learnt a new way to training, a better way, a way so that their body and mind could both benefit in a less stressful environment. As well as that they wanted to train more often per week. Betting last months TT wasn't the goal, it was the reward from consistent training and believing in what they were doing. If you have lost your way then we encourage you to come and see. #findingyourway #trainingprograms #paddling #paddles #running #sup #rowing #ergo #coaching #trainingsmart #kayak #newwaytotrain #outsidethebox #experiencecounts #paddle2fitnessprograms
