22.01.2022 Scrambler Therapy is a biophysical rather than biochemical approach to pain management. Scrambler Therapy is available now in Queensland with a Doctors referral at Meglio Therapeutics.

11.01.2022 Scrambler therapy is often compared to tens (transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation) and both do involve the application of electrodes to the skin but the similarity ends there. Tens is technology from the 1960’s that is thought to work through the Gateway theory of pain relief, where normal touch sensations block pain signals. Tens has a simple, square wave form with regular pulse width and frequency causing nerve stimulation. This tens signal is not in human form and... is eventually recognised by the brain and rejected. Scrambler therapy was developed in 2003, and it creates an asymmetrical wave form morphology and frequency. It is proposed that the shifting wave form used in Scrambler therapy provides normal, non-pain electrical information via the nerves that transmit chronic pain signals. The scrambled electrical signals are received by the brain as no-pain signals. By a process known as neuroplasticity the brain retrains and perceives that there isn’t pain in the area being treated. Through daily repetition over the 10 day initial Scrambler treatment, our brain begins to memorise the new patterns, and the pain relief becomes longer lasting. 06.01.2022 Scrambler therapy is now available in Queensland. Patients have previously had to travel interstate and overseas to access this therapy for chronic pain conditions. Using small electrodes placed on the skin it "scrambles" pain signals and replaces them with "non-pain" information. Scrambler therapy has been shown to be effective in chronic pain conditions such as CRPS, peripheral neuropathy, cancer and chemotherapy induced neuropathy, back pain, fibromyalgia, sciatic neuropathy, neck pain and phantom limb pain.

01.01.2022 Colour the World Orange Day for CRPS Awareness. Complex Regional Pain Syndrome is a rare, neuroinflammatory syndrome characterized by intense chronic pain, swelling, tropic changes, vascular changes, and functional impairment of the limb. It can be incredibly debilitating unless diagnosed early and treated appropriately. Shout out to all our CRPS warriors today! 01.01.2022 Although it is often described as a new or emerging therapy, Scrambler Therapy has been used to treat patients with chronic pain for over 15 years. A recent study evaluated the impact of Scrambler Therapy on 219 patients with moderate to severe chronic pain. The data collected showed the statistically significant impact of the treatment that was maintained throughout follow-up .
