25.01.2022 Today we had a bit of fun with our Monday ladies and tried a Scrap Your Stash class at home! Its not quite the same as having a shop full of rowdy scrappers, but it filled a gap in our normal weekly routine. I thought Id share the simple layout and basic measurements to our wider FB community in case anyone else wanted to play along at home. Ive shared some of their finished versions in the comments below, so be sure to check out how easily this page can be adapted to your own tastes! I was obsessed with their paper and was stockpiling way before it became a trend in 2020! While I #stayhome today Im sorting my BG paper in to collections. This is the pile so far... 23.01.2022 Its a long while since a new release has made me this happy and excited!!! Speckled Egg is my new favourite colour! I even found a scarf to wear for the occasion! Our first shipment has arrived and all preorders have been packed and are ready for collection! (I hope I didnt miss anyone) There are literally only a few pieces left from this entire first delivery, but a second delivery is due this week to restock most items and a third order is already being ...processed! I fear the numbers might get out of control and I dont want anyone to have a disappointing experience trying to get their hands on these products. Once the second delivery arrives, I will make the stock available through the online store. Of course, if you are willing to wait a little and keen to support the Cottage by shopping locally, then I will happily create an order for you and notify you as soon as things become available. 23.01.2022 Just when the work area was almost clear, 10 more boxes of stock get delivered!! I’m working hard to load the new Simple Stories, Echo Park, Carta Bella and Bella Blvd collections to the online store and there’ll be a video flip through coming soon too. The store will be open from 10am-4pm tomorrow if you want to check out the new goodies in person. Happy scrapping!

21.01.2022 Things are happening, rules are changing, restrictions are easing and heres where Im at... Mum is halfway through treatment and we are counting the days until June 10th when this chapter of our lives is finished. As the days go by, things get a little bit tougher for her (and for me!) so from now until the end of June, the store will be closed on Wednesdays as well as Sundays. ... The current store hours of 12-5 weekdays and 10-4 Saturdays will remain until at least June 10th. At this stage, classes and scraps are still on hold. In all honesty, I feel like July 1st is a realistic time to start planning for their return. A new financial year will be the perfect time for a new start! Online classes are coming and I hope to have a schedule of classes on offer throughout June to start easing you back towards life as we knew it before this all began! Thank you everybody for your continued support of the store and the overwhelming response to our online store too! I am so very grateful for your patience and understanding as Mum and I work through this current challenge and I cant wait for us all to be back to normal and back together again soon! 20.01.2022 Is anybody else using this time to sort and get organised? While I wait at the shop for our stock deliveries, I decided to tackle the HUGE task of getting some sort of order to my chaotic craft stash. Admittedly I probably have the largest craft room (aka Scrapbook Cottage!), but the process for me is always the same. I adhere to the SPACE principle I saw on Oprah years ago... Sort Purge Assign... Containerise Evaluate Currently Im in the sorting phase, which is my favourite one! And the longer I spend sorting, the longer before I get to the dreaded purge phase! Hoarders?? Im sorting in to piles of paper (by brand), cardstock, tools, embellishments and layouts. I feel like organising everything first will give me the permission to sit down and play when the time arrives and I believe that time is looming fast... We have two massive shipments of various containers and storage products in transit. Im happy to add them to our online store if anyone is interested and also post a couple of videos of the way I use them if youd like to see...? Happy sorting! Its safer at home amongst your craft supplies anyway...

20.01.2022 Ive had a crash course this past week in domain names, DNS and all sorts of things I never knew I needed to know! Long story short... our new online store is now located at www.scrapbookcottage.net.au I have loaded another couple of hundred items and continue to spend my days loading more! There are some awesome new goodies coming from Simple Stories! Dusty Attic have Coronavirus chipboard and Couture Creations have a beautiful ANZAC range due in next week, so stay tuned...! 20.01.2022 So an eventful evening tonight in Anella Avenue... One of our resident hoons put on quite a show of fireworks as he brought down the power pole and all the lines. Every imaginable emergency service vehicle has arrived (no sign of Rob Lowe and his crew though!). Im not sure at this stage what this means for the shop tomorrow morning with regards to electricity. Ill update as soon as I know more.

12.01.2022 Howdy crafty peeps!! Happy Star Wars Day! I just want to let you know about a change happening at the store for the next 6 weeks... Mum starts her radiation treatment today, so from tomorrow I will only be open from 12-5 each weekday and 10-4 on Saturdays. ... That is the plan so far and there is a possibility that further changes may need to happen, so please check our Google hours or Facebook hours for the most up to date details. If youre planning a visit, maybe just give the store a call beforehand to be extra safe! 08.01.2022 I want to say a huge thank you to you all for your enthusiastic support! I started the day Thursday with a huge pile of full boxes and a sense of nervousness about the uncharted territory I was entering, but it seems I shouldnt have been so worried! By the afternoon the boxes were empty and I was truly feeling the love! I also want to apologise for selling out of the paper holders and dividers so quickly! Never fear, more have already been ordered and will be on their way a...fter Easter. Stay tuned for an update when they arrive... Ill be at home over the Easter weekend spending time in my scrap room, practicing my crocheting, starting a jigsaw puzzle and teaching myself to do brush lettering! Fun times indeed... 05.01.2022 The store will be CLOSED Monday 16th... The panic buying of craft supplies was real this weekend, but thats not the reason for our one day closure! Some of you know that mum had a bit of a health scare last month that requires some additional treatment. In light of the current health crisis, I need to minimise the risks to my health (and hers) so will need to close the shop for the day. I just need a little time... Tuesday the store will be back to normal and I sincerely apologise for the late notice and any inconvenience caused. Stay safe, stay healthy and scrap your stash to make way for new goodies! 05.01.2022 Its definitely a whole new world! Videos for Facebook, finally starting my online store, working out how to teach classes from home...I feel like the last couple of weeks have been a blur trying to find a new normal amongst all this craziness. The only Facebook video Ive ever shared was the one of the shop flooding, so please be kind to me with this new video. Im still figuring out how to edit and how not to talk too much! I certainly have lots to learn! It took me so l...ong that I need to clarify when I say Ill be at the store tomorrow, I mean Thursday not Good Friday! I have managed to load over 500 products so far to the new online store. There is obviously still a huge amount to be added, but I wanted to put it out there and see how it functions. Its a work in progress, but I have to start somewhere right? 05.01.2022 Well all good things have to come to an end... Its been a crazy busy, inspiring and exhausting three days! Heres a snippet of just some of the photos I took of awesome things seen on the show floor and a couple of the other bits that will be arriving at the Cottage soon! 03.01.2022 First and foremost we are a community... Weve laughed together, cried together and leant on each other through some really dark days, always feeling the love and support this community offers. It breaks my heart to think that decisions I make can have such huge impacts on the lives of people who mean so much to me. Do I remain open and risk someone getting sick or do I close and take away a crucial social outlet for those who need it for their mental health? The weight of t...hose decisions has kept me awake now for several nights... Is it best to shut the doors thereby encouraging everybody to stay at home and minimise their risk of exposure and mine? Should we cancel all classes and limit visitors inside the store to maintain safe social distancing measures? Do I wait and see and let the government make the tough decisions for me? What if someone enters the store who doesnt realise they have the virus? What if...? What if....? In my heart of hearts I know that staying home is without a doubt the safest option for everybody and that brings me a sense of peace. As mum starts her radiation journey in the coming weeks, the risk of me making her sick is something I cant live with... Today and tomorrow Ill start preparing for our closure. Classes will not be scheduled until further notice. I will start making arrangements for online shopping options, delivery options and online classes so as to keep our community together and crafting through these difficult times. Please be patient as I work my way through these new endeavours. Therell be lots of questions and lots of decisions to make. As stock deliveries continue to arrive this week, I will let you know when your orders are ready. I will confirm our final day this week as soon as I know when that will be. Please stay tuned to Facebook for all information. I appreciate your support and I love the ideas and suggestions that are already flowing in. This month sees the beginning of the stock arrivals from Creativation, but in between unpacking the boxes well make time to bring you some awesome classes!
