19.01.2022 We are so excited to have Lucy at Padre Coffee on Tuesday night! Amazing national effort to nail that pesky coffee defect!
19.01.2022 Spent most of today at the Real Food Festival Sunshine Coast shooting for the magical people who are the Sunshine Coast Roasters Guild. It's always nice (and g...enerally rare) to find great coffee at a festival but this was a pleasure overload with SIX amazing roasters under the one roof. The festival continues tomorrow. Great food, produce and entertainment to enjoy... I can't recommend it enough. And be sure to visit the guild tent and meet the people: Pioneer Coffee Roastery Yandina - Tim Adams Specialty Coffee - Montville Coffee - Sunshine Coast Coffee Roastery - Clandestino Roasters - Flying West Small Batch Roasters
17.01.2022 In celebration of The Curated Plate Montville Coffee is releasing a favourite coffee inspired recipe every Sunday in August! This week’s gem comes to us from our favourite in house hipster chef Sean McGowan. Get the recipe on Montville Coffee’s blog on their website. When you register for Montville Coffee Food and Coffee pairing workshop use the code THANK YOU and the ticket is a gift from us. It seems like every local food producer is involved in the first Curated Plate Foo...d Festival taking place across the Sunshine Coast Region this August. The opportunities to collaborate around local food and provenance have been endless, almost overwhelming! The main focus for us has been to work with local coffee roasters to create an exciting Sunshine Coast Coffee Trail. During August our roasteries will be open for a variety of experiences. Then from August 8-11 we will be in the heart of the Food Festival in Cotton Tree Park in a special Coffee Festival Marquee brewing up great coffee and fun master classes. If you are in the area, don’t miss it. What excites all of the roasters who are involved is summed up by fellow roaster Jo Bennett, by combining our efforts to inform, challenge and educate both Sunshine Coast locals and visitors about coffee, and the specialty coffee industry, we can create much more of an impact than each of us standing alone. #montvillecoffee #whatsthestoryinyourcup #sunshinecoastbusiness #fairtradeaustralia #organiccoffee #explorecoffee #coffeeculture #visitsunshinecoast #foodagnetwork #certifiedorganic #travelqueensland #thisisqueensland #bcorp #bigpineapple #noosafarmersmarket #kawanafarmersmarket #thecuratedplate #thecoffeetrailsunshinecoast
16.01.2022 https://www.flyingwest.com.au/blog/roasters-united Flying West, along with five other local roasters, joined forces to create the Coast’s first and only coffee trail, highlighting not only the amazing coffee on order but also the 60 local cafes serving up their fresh beans.
16.01.2022 Here's one for the baristas and roasters in particular! http://www.nature.com/articles/srep24483#t1
10.01.2022 Many of you will have seen the Climate Institutes report on the effect that climate change is forecasted to have on coffee production and quality. It was also carried widely by the media. However, we should all remember that most of the value of our wonderful cafe offerings is added by roasters and cafes. NGOs and others, working with struggling 2 acre cooperative coffee farmers, particularly those certified under Fairtrade and other third party systems have been expressing concern about family livlihoods and building resilience in the face of increasingly unpredictable harvests for at least 5 years already. We cannot wait for political parochialism. This report is timely. Learn more here: http://climateinstitute.org.au/coffee.html
