24.01.2022 Hello Surfers! We are back at the beach after a few months of observing COVID restrictions. The current advice in place is that we need to observe distancing and ensuring our staff and clients follow the appropriate hygiene practices. We are restricted to 10 people on the beach (including coaches). Most or our lessons are well within that, apart from our Moreton Bay Regional Council programs, and APEX camps programs. Hopefully by Spring, we will be allowed to cater for groups... of up to 20! As Winter approaches, we keep an eye on how conditions affect our WOORIM location, as the season is characterised by Southerly swell. Moreton island blocks this swell from reaching WOORIM, meaning the beach looks more like a lake than a beach! We have 5 beaches we can use in the Caloundra area, Wurtulla, Currimundi, Dicky, Happy Valley and Kings Beaches. Each location is very different, and gives us the luxury of selecting a suitable location in most conditions. Group and Private will lessons will always be available during Winter! This includes SURFGROMS, Surfgetways Clinics (Ladies only), AirBnB experiences and general group and private lessons. We received an update from Surfing Australia on Friday evening regarding delivering surfing lessons.... Unfortunately we cannot take any bookings until further direction from Queensland Government, Surfing Australia and Surfing Queensland. 18.01.2022 Hi there Surfers! I am looking for a Bribie based Surf Coach. Must have or be willing to acquire Coaching accreditation with SURFING AUSTRALIA, which I can assist with. ... WILL NEED TO BE A COMPETENT SURFER Other certificates include water safety, Working with Children Blue card and First Aid/CPR. (all of these can be attained) Most importantly a mature, responsible and flexible approach is required. Ideally some previous sports coaching experience!
