Slow, controlled breaths following prompts from your fabulous instructor Dana will be key for your success. ... But if you want some insight beforehand correct breathing in pilates has two main benefits - it helps you activate the correct muscles (feel the burn!) and makes the exercises safer. We know that’s a lot of credit to give a normal bodily function you were going to do anyway, but when done correctly breathing can prevent neck and shoulder muscles from tensing, engage your pelvic floor and so many other things.
