21.01.2022 Wow... Newcastle is full of surprises We were fortunate enough to be invited on the very first "Architecture Walk" of the East End and CBD guided by internationally recognised Aussie architect, Newy local Dr Stephen Fleming (wearing the boater hat).... Who would've thought the grand ol' lady of Newcastle, second oldest city in the State and largest regional economy in Oz, would feature so many well-preserved examples of a vast range of different styles from the last two hundred and twenty years (since circa 1800)? The walk was organised by the irrepressible shaker and mover Lee-Anne Marsh. Let's hope this fascinating and fun tour becomes a regular-offering available to locals and visitors alike It was also a great opportunity to network the Newcastle Sculpture Walk (or NSW) our proposed annual temporary exhibition which would add one or two prize winning pieces to the City's permanent collection. Please keep spreading the word about SINA, inviting your friends/family to join this growing movement and sharing your ideas with us...
16.01.2022 "Resilience" a sculpture to promote mental health and wellness was unveiled in 2015 in Newcastle's Foreshore Park near the Convict Lumber Yards. According to the Newcastle Herald it was "the brainchild of Jo Sinclair and sculpted by Roger McFarlane. The two metre high marble sculpture shows an abstract female form in a contemplative pose".
