25.01.2022 A wonderful student has created a private FB group for SCU students. It's designed as a place outside the 'classroom' where students can relax and engage with others. Student pages are a fantastic tool and can add to student life in many ways. I know I have loved being part of them in the past. Please jump over and join.... Disclaimer: While SCULSS is promoting the group, we are not associated with the group in any way and are not responsible for it. Additionally, the page ...has no formal links with the university, which means that if you need a university question answered you should contact the appropriate person at the university. https://www.facebook.com/groups/354737669508690 See more

Mr Burnside is a prominent barrister, accomplished author and human rights advocate. His legal practice is principally in commercial litigation, trade practices and administrative law. However, following his involvement with refugee issues during the Tampa stand-off, he has also developed a distinguished public law practi...ce. He also successfully appeared before the Federal Court and the High Court for the Maritime Union of Australia in the Patrick Stevedores v MUA litigation (the 'Waterfront Dispute'). Mr Burnside is widely recognised and celebrated as one of Australia’s leading advocates in relation to the treatment of asylum seekers and the protection of human rights. In 2009, he was made an Officer of the Order of Australia (OA) for service as a human rights advocate, particularly for refugees and asylum seekers, to the arts as a patron and fund-raiser, and to the law.
