Professor Hurley is a credentialed mental health nurse and an accredited Emotional Intelligence assessor for GENOS international. He is also a gestalt psychotherapist, counsellor and adult educator. His teaching and research activities at SCU (School of Health and Human Sciences) are predominantly focused on mental wellbeing, emotional intelligence and health workforce issues.
