24.01.2022 Put down the chips and the choccies! Weve got the perfect treat to power you through your Monday! Try these LEMON, COCONUT & TAHINI BLISS BALLS! Thanks to Jordanna Levin from The Inspired Table for this delicious treat! ... Ingredients 1 cup pitted medjool dates 1 cup desiccated coconut, plus extra to roll. 1 cup almond meal 1/4 cup hulled tahini 1/2 cup coconut oil 5 drops of lemon essential oil (or two teaspoons of lemon zest) Method 1. Process the dates in a food processor until they form a paste. 2. Add the coconut and almond meal and process until fine crumbs form. 3. Add the tahini, coconut oil and lemon essential oil and process until well combined. The mixture should stick together when rolled into a ball. If it's too dry add more coconut oil. If it's too wet add more desiccated coconut. 4. Roll the mixture into tablespoon sized balls and then roll in extra desiccated coconut to coat well. Set aside in the fridge for at least 30 minutes to set. 5. 19.01.2022 Exciting times for Chiropractic! A new research study has demonstrated that a spinal misalignment (subluxation) can change the function of your brain. The study proves that spinal manipulation, of a dysfunctional joint, can alter the processing of the pre-frontal cortex by up to 31.3%. The pre-frontal cortex is an area of the brain that is implicated in a variety of complex behaviours, including planning, and greatly contributes to personality development.... And just in case you're wondering what it all means... What are Somatosensory Evoked Potentials (SEPs)? Somatosensory - relates to or denotes a sensation (such as pressure, pain, or warmth) which can occur anywhere in the body, in contrast to one localised at a sense organ (such as sight, balance, or taste). Pertaining to sensations received in the skin and deep tissues. Evoked Potentials - are the electrical signals generated by the nervous system in response to sensory stimuli. SEP's are a useful, noninvasive means of assessing somatosensory system functioning. Auditory, visual, and somatosensory stimuli are used commonly for clinical evoked potential studies. SEPs are routinely used in neurology today to confirm and localize sensory abnormalities and to monitor changes during surgical procedures.

02.01.2022 We've been trying variations of this recipe for months but now we've finally perfected it! If you're looking for a healthy, gluten free, dairy free snack - this is it. Enjoy! Before You Start: - Set the oven to 180 degrees - Grease a loaf tin with coconut oil (25cm x 12cm tin)... Ingredients: - 180g of pecans (chopped) - 3 x large ripe bananas (mashed) - 3 eggs - 140ml almond or rice milk - 70ml coconut oil - 1 x cup coconut flour - 3/4 cup almond meal - 2 1/2 teaspoons gluten free baking powder - pinch of salt - 1 x red apple (thinly sliced) - 2 tablespoons (or 1 if you prefer) of manuka honey - Optional - freshly grated ginger (use a piece about the same size as an avocado seed) - Optional - pinch of cinnamon Method: 1. Add coconut oil, sliced apple and honey into a small pot and cook on medium heat on the stove top until the apple softens 2. At the same time combine all of the dry ingredients together and put aside. 3. Beat the 3 x eggs separately in another bowl and then add them to the mashed banana. 4. Use an electric beater to stir the mixture slowly, then slowly add in the milk and dry ingredients. 5. Add the cooked apple and coconut oil mixture into the batter. 6. Lastly, add the chopped pecans and fold through. 7. Cook for 1 hour and 10 minutes (checking at about 45 mins and every 10 mins thereafter to account for different ovens). Last step.... eat it!
