13.01.2022 Rates Extension. Maranoa Regional Council is reminding residents are reminded that the rates discount period has been extended from Friday, 3 April 2020 to Tues...day, 5 May 2020. These rates notices are for the current half year (1 January 30 June 2020). Council Says that with the broad ranging Australian Government initiatives including social distancing, residents are encouraged, wherever possible, to make payments from the safety of their homes either online or by phone. A secure online payment portal is now available so that rate payments can be made using a credit card. It is as easy as visiting the Council website www.maranoa.qld.gov.au and clicking the Make a Payment tab. Other options include: Online via BPay By Australia Post - Billpay By phone to Australia Post 13 18 16 By phone to Council call 1300 007 662 By mail PO Box 620, Roma Qld 4455 As always, residents who are experiencing financial difficulty and who cannot pay the rates in full by the new due date, are advised to please apply to Council to enter into a payment arrangement to pay rates in smaller, regular payments.

07.01.2022 An update on the restrictions in place to slow the spread of coronavirus. Public gatherings are now limited to two people. Closed: Pubs, clubs, cinemas, casin...os, nightclubs, indoor sporting venues, outdoor gyms, community and recreation centres, places of worship, auctions and open houses, beauty therapy and tattoo parlours, amusement parks, arcades, play centres, public playgrounds, skateparks, galleries, museums, libraries and swimming pools. Restaurants, cafés and food courts restricted to takeaway and home deliveries. Hairdressers and barbers must observe the 4sqm rule. Bootcamps and personal training sessions limited to two people. Weddings limited to five people, funerals limited to 10 people. We’re asking everyone to stay at home as much as possible and observe social distancing. I want you all to... know at The Pantry we’re using bleach and cleaning all surfaces frequently trolleys black baskets counters fridge doors etc. Hand Sanitiser at the front door. There is grey tape on floor to be aware of distancing, the shop is 140 square meters which allows 30 customers at one time so limit on customer shouldn’t be a problem We are able to deliver groceries over 100 dollars to your door within a reasonable distance from town if need be. We Thankyou for your support through this crisis and hope that we can remain open to serve our so far healthy town!

01.01.2022 MARANOA LOCAL DISASTER MANAGEMENT GROUP (LDMG) MEETS TO DISCUSS COVID-19 Yesterday (25 March 2020) members of the Local Disaster Management Group (LDMG) met to... discuss the evolving COVID-19 situation. To date there are no positive COVID-19 cases in the Maranoa area. At the meeting, it was agreed that the Group move from the Alert stage to Lean Forward due to the increase in the number of overall COVID-19 cases in Australia and the new Australian and Queensland Government restrictions. Under the Lean Forward stage, the LDMG will now be meeting on a regular basis, with the next meeting scheduled next week on Wednesday, 1 April 2020. In the meantime, members of the relevant agencies will continue monitoring the situation, and any further advice from the Australian and Queensland Governments. The Group has been in contact with supermarkets, fuel suppliers and pharmacies across the region to monitor current stock and assess availability and continuity of supplies. The LDMG and Council will continue to communicate with the community on further impacts.
