02.01.2022 Dear clients, thank you for your support since we opened this tiny practice a few years ago. Your support has kept a family afloat and a couple of OCD individuals engaged in something other than arguing over whether a painting is straight or not or whether a cat has one paw larger than the other. Please understand that no matter how much we care about you and your business and no matter how much we want to see you avail yourselves to whatever the government is offering (which... isn't much), the ATO and the TPB are very clear on this point... ANYBODY trying dodgy s**t to qualify for the $1,500 jobkeeper allowance (e.g. by backdating payrolls) will do 2 things: 1. Arouse the suspicion of the ATO who are threatening diabolical consequences for those who try this on. 2. Haul Tax Agents (who allow them to try it) before the TPB and likely cancel their licences to keep practising. Since we don't have dodgy clients who would ever dream of doing this, my comments don't apply to you, but may apply to your friends. Please pass the message onto them. I'm still around and hope to see you soon. Steve
