25.01.2022 I’ve spoken about how important it is to build an engaged social media community before but I constantly get messages and DM’s asking how I did it! So I’ve complied a few of my best tips & secrets to help you out: Ensure your are providing value to your followers. Ask yourself, are you sharing what THEY want to see or what YOU want to see? I’ll say it again your content is king! Check those insights girl and see what is performing well and give them more of that. ... Be easy to warm and easy to communicate with. This is my personal favourite! Studies alone show that 57% of consumers will stay loyal to a brand if there was more human connection. Please, please, please reply to comments and DM’s - it’s so easy and is the simplest tip. GIVE BACK! Run a giveaway or just simply set aside time everyday to engage with the people that are engaging with you. Show them some love and support on their posts like they do for you. Tell your story! You’d be so surprised how many new connections I made because people could relate to my situation. Your followers love relatable content and will in turn become more engaged with you! 21.01.2022 Let’s talk Social Media CONTENT PLANNING! For me, this is KEY to ensuring posts are relevant, consistent & strategic. I generally do a monthly content plan for my clients (but do whatever you feel works for your biz - whether it be fortnightly, monthly or more). Here’s a bunch of my tips below - happy planning! CONTENT IDEAS - think outside your own biz. What are some trends/hot topics going around that would be relevant for you to jump on board & relate back to your ...brand? i.e sustainability - plan seasonally. Look ahead to see what seasonal events are coming up & strategically plan what your brand/biz will be doing for these i.e Valentine’s Day, Back to School - show yourself & the behind the scenes of your biz! Humanised content is truly the BEST! People love to see ‘meet the team’ posts or your ‘why’ for starting up a small biz - supplement your own content with curated posts that relate to your niche or industry SEPARATE YOUR CONTENT - when planning, make sure you separate the content according to platforms (Instagram, FB etc). People don’t want to see the exact same content across all your platforms, so mix it up & structure your posts (i.e more wordy, educational post on FB vs an inspirational quote on Insta). I like to colour code mine on the calendar! BE STRATEGIC WHEN YOU PLAN - Look through your social media insights to determine what days & time you want to post, based on when your audience is active & engaged Lastly - don’t set & forget! Even though you schedule in the posts ahead, make sure you jump on your channels daily to respond to comments & engage with your community Tell me what tips you liked best & if you have any to add See more

18.01.2022 The golden question I often get from biz owners - how do I increase ENGAGEMENT on Instagram. Well the answer you seek is SAVES The IG algorithm looks at engagement when deciding what posts to show to more people. And... one of the most important metrics to determine engagement is SAVES (other metrics include likes, watch time etc). Why? Because if someone ‘saves’ one of your posts, it generally means that this post is of VALUE to them & they want to refer back to it at a la...ter date. So...the more saves = bigger reach = more engagement To create value loaded posts, try out some of the following content ideas: 1. Step by step tutorial (great for beauty & hair brands) 2. Hacks & tips (for example social media tips & tricks - like what I do ) 3. Quotes! Inspirational & funny quotes both work - people like to read back on them & share with friends 4. Infographic style imagery - it encourages people to save it for later to use as reference material or take their time processing all the details Finally make sure to use a CTA - ask your audience to save your post! 15.01.2022 Shadow Banning. What the heck is it and how does it work? Noticed a significant drop in engagement, hashtags not working or your followers are declining? You may have been shadow banned by Instagram. What is Shadow Banning? ... A Shadow Ban hides your Instagram posts from users who don’t follow you, which will be detrimental in growing your account. But, more importantly if you have been shadow banned and use hashtags in your posts, only you and your followers will see it when they search those hashtags. For someone who doesn’t follow you and searches for those hashtags they won’t even be able to see your content. How to ensure you DO NOT get Shadow Banned: Don’t used banned hashtags Don’t participate in follower loops, bots or fake accounts Don’t purchase followers or engagement Avoid ’spammy’ behaviour like commenting on 100 posts. This new feature is designed to highlight positivity & allow users better control over the conversations had on their posts. Pinterest is a visual goldmine full of ideas for content Search through your key words & look at the most popular pins for inspiration 2. Get inspo from your industry buddies. Follow accounts that really appeal to you & your brand. Look at engagement rates of the posts you like & ...click ‘save’ on Insta so you can refer back to these later. Make sure you put a twist on the idea so it relates back to your brand & tone of voice 3. Ask your followers what they would like to see more of from you on socials. Polls & questions on Instagram stories are a fab way to engage with your followers on content ideas 4. Repurpose old content! 01.01.2022 The Instagram love language Hashtags SAVE THIS POST! Here’s a little secret I use everyday to ensure I am using the best hashtags for my biz. And, guess what?! You can do the same! ... 1. Hop on your computer, not your phone! 2. Go to the search bar 3. Type in a hashtag that relates to your business (E.g. I could type social media manager or content creator) 4. Click on the hashtag and it will show you a list of other related hashtags. You can incorporate these into your lists! 5. Make sure to use small, medium and large hashtags 6. Switch out your hashtags each post and rotate them so you’re not using the same ones everyday.
