09.01.2022 In Australia alone we use and dispose of over 1 BILLION single use coffee cups per year. That’s around 2.7 MILLION PER DAY! . The plastic film on the inside of these cups and their lids generate over 60 tonnes of plastic waste which can’t be recycled and goes to landfill or into the ocean. There’s a number of things we can do to stop such an alarming trend: . Use a Reusable Cup - lots of cafes offer discounts for Reusables and swap programs!... Where reusables aren’t practical or you leave yours at home, choose a cafe that uses Compostable or Biodegradable cups and lids.
