19.01.2022 Making the most of my last day of holidays... #backtowork #13monthsoff #summer #summerholidays #blowuppool #backyardfun

17.01.2022 Cruising along the Murray River today....

17.01.2022 Great Ocean Road Our time along the Great Ocean Road was wet, windy and cold! We had planned to spend a week along this coastline but sometimes things just don't go to plan! So we just did it a quicker than planned. We started our trip from Warrnambool, and then stopped for 2 nights in Apollo Bay. Which is an awesome little beach town and not as touristy as Lorne. Even though the weather was crappy we were able to get out and look through the shops and of course visit the loc...al pub and playground. We finished off with 3 nights in Torquay while Snowy waited and hoped for the wind to drop for some good swell for surfing but unfortunately it didn't. But Even in crappy weather it is still such a spectacular coastline. Next we've decided to change direction and instead of heading East via Melbourne we are going North to the Murray River and to chase the warmer weather again! Next Stop Echuca and The Murray River

15.01.2022 Barossa Valley and Adelaide I think this was our biggest driving day about 7hrs in the car, which is huge for us and the 3 kiddies, we were all glad to finally arrive in the Barossa Valley. We finally saw the sun again and we had a great few days driving around the vineyards, more wine tasting, more wine drinking, swimming and celebrating Snowy's birthday! Next stop was down to Adelaide, we stayed just south of the city in a little beachside town Christies Beach. The caravan... park was across from the beach and about 30mins drive on the freeway into the city. We spent 1 afternoon in the touristy suburb of Glenelg, to us it felt a lot like Manly or the Gold Coast, lots of cafes and restaurants and bars. Bit too busy for us, but you can see why it's so popular! We also drive into the city and then rode our bikes along the River, around Adelaide Oval and into Rundle Mall. Was fun to get into the city and into the Xmas spirit, where the kids got to visit Santa and see all the Xmas decorations in the Mall. We only have a few weeks left now so we are rushing around trying to get a glimpse of everything! Next stop Robe and Mount Gambier #barossavalley #adelaide #christiesbeach #southaustralia #caravanningwithkids #tawk #travelaustraliawithkids #travel #family #lapofthemap

13.01.2022 Streaky Bay and Coffin Bay We stayed 2 nights in Streaky Bay in a great caravan park right on the Bay. It was an easy walk and bike ride into town. The weather was great, but seriously the flys were horrendous!! Worse place I think we have had for flies! There were 2 Ocean drives to check out the coastline and we went to see a Sealion colony. We got to see about 20 but you really needed binoculars. We then headed further south towards Port Lincoln and we camped in the Coffin... Bay national park. The flies followed... then the bees came! We seriously had 1000s of bees swarming our caravan. We were trapped inside one afternoon!! It was crazy!! Apart from the flies, the bees, the scorching sun and then the pouring rain (just in 2 days) we found a cool beach track over the sand dunes to a beach, unfortunately just after we arrived an older couple had bogged themselves in the sand further up the beach so snowy had to dig out their car for them. Thankfully we were able to help get them out and back into town safely. We checked out the town of Port Lincoln and tasted the local oysters from Coffin Bay. We had planned to stay a 3rd night but there had been too much drama so we decided to head off a day earlier and we found a cool free camp at Port Gibson before heading to our next Stop Barossa Valley. #streakybay #streakybayjetty #coffinbay #portlincoln #southaustralia

12.01.2022 Robe and Mount Gambier "Robe isn't famous for Robes" pretty much the whole reason for stopping here was so we could say that! Who else remembers that TV commercial??!! But - so glad we did, a really awesome little town. Lovely little shops, cafes and restaurants, great historic pubs and a choice of beautiful beaches. ... We stayed at the Robe Holiday Park, which was a basic park but had heaps of grass for the kids to run a muck and a jumping pillow! The weather was a hot 30-35 so we soaked up the sun at the beach and then cooled down with beers in the afternoon at The Caledonian Pub. Then we headed a couple of 100kms to Mount Gambier we only had one afternoon here so we were "speed sightseeing"! Another great town with heaps to see and do. We camped at the Mount Gambier Showgrounds, for $20 you get a nice grassy site, toilet and showers. The kids loved watching the horses train at the Trots track. Next Stop Great Ocean Road, VIC

05.01.2022 Its been a very busy first year for this guy! From Fiji and Bali to a lap around Australia ... climbing Ayres Rock, hiking Kings Canyon, camel rides and jumping crocs, endless hours in the car, learning to sit, crawl and stand all while spending 6 months living in a caravan. You are a champ - Happy 1st Birthday Tully #firstbirthday #birthday #birthdayontheroad #tullyryder #tully #whatwillnextyearbring #hardtotop #tawk #travelaustraliawithkids #travelingwithkids #caravanningwithkids #australia

03.01.2022 We are little behind with our updates as we have hadn't much phone service! Echuca and Kosciusko As this was going to be our last official caravan park we finally gave in and booked into the Maiden Inn Discovery park in Moama, you know the ones with water slides and water park, multiple pools, jumping pillow and playgrounds - a kids paradise! The minute we drove into the driveway the girls were pumped! ... We had a river side site and we were meeting up with some family so we were set to have a cracking weekend which we did! After 6.5 months away it was nice to sit back with family and relax, the kids were entertained and the weather was hot. The town of Echuca was awesome, it doesn't feel real at all, the old buildings, shops, pubs and the beautiful Murray River. We went for a cruise on one of the old Paddlesteamers, which was a great way to take in the town and the River. Our weekend here went too quickly, we then moved along the river and found an awesome free camp at Yarrawonga. We set up camp right on the River, we felt like we were miles away from anywhere but we were only 5kms from the town. Next stop we headed into High Country and we camped at the bottom of Kosciusko at Geehi Hut, another beautiful secluded camp this time along the Swampy Plain River. We were surrounded by Mountains, there were countess kangaroos and we swam in the freshwater river. We took the kids up to Mount Kosciusko which is the highest Mountain in Australia and a perfect way to end our trip around Australia. As our next Stop will be to see our beloved Staffy Bella, who is patiently waiting after 6.5 months for us to come home. See more

02.01.2022 We've camped as some unusual places, but this one was pretty cool. The Mount Gambier Trots! We sat and watched them training, also waiting for the huge storm to roll in! #mountgambier #mountgambierharnessracing #trots #showground #camping #storm #stormwatching #travelaustraliawithkids #caravanningwithkids #australia #lastnightinSA #southaustralia #family #horseracing
