18.01.2022 Solar a winner! A solar bragging post this time. Below is a pic of Alex from Solvation installing the panels back in Jan 2015. It is only a small 2kW PV system but it is all that was needed to hopefully make us grid demand neutral.... Since then I have kept a fairly close eye on how they have been going, watching the meters tick over and recording the numbers every few weeks. The proof is in the graph on how successful the installation is. Basically, the system is producing well in excess of what the chalets use. The fact that the solar production is higher than the grid demand means that there is excess power going back into the grid. What it also confirms is that the PV system, combined with the 6-Star house insulation requirements and the inverter air-conditioners (heating and cooling) are working well. We do plan to add additional insulation under the floors this year and this will only further increase power sent back to the grid due to reduced power demand. The aim is to further reduce our environmental footprint. Hopefully one day maybe there will be an electric car recharger installed! Here's hoping. Cheers, Pete
