24.01.2022 We're staying beachside and waking to the gentle lapping of the ocean right outside your door. 123 kilometres south of Mackay, Clairview is a seaside community on the Isaac Coast. Clairview is a rustic beachside community, with golden sands famous for crabbing. The waters are a protected sanctuary for the endangered Dugong.

The population of Rockhampton in June 2018 was 78,592, making it the fourth-largest city in the state outside of the cities of South East Queensland, and the 22nd-largest city in Australia

08.01.2022 E-Scapee's we've got another thumbs up, this time directed towards Team Smithies! Bronwyn has walked an amazing 164.24kms all by herself! Well Done Bronwyn, an amazing effort!!

07.01.2022 We find ourselves in the small down of Yaamba this evening. It's about 36.6 km north of Rockhampton, on the main highway to Mackay. It now consists of a pub and a Rest Area and service Station, but in days past it was the place where northbound travellers crossed the Fitzroy River before moving west or north as desired.

05.01.2022 Guys! Look where we are tonight!! Covering an amazing 59,138 hectares the Mount Zero-Taravale Sanctuary covers a large area of spectacular landscape adjacent to the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area in north Queensland. The property is a hotspot for Australia’s wildlife, protecting an exceptional diversity of species and habitats.

03.01.2022 A quick shout out and a big Peninsula Active E-Scape thumbs up to Tara W of the Kananoook PS Team. Tara is the only person on her team and, at the time of this post, has clocked 84.94kms! Well Done Tara, keep up the great work!

01.01.2022 We're resting our feet in the small community of Benaraby. With its location at the southern entrance to Gladstone, you cannot miss Benaraby. It's fairly well known to anglers, being the gateway to Lake Awoonga, which has a pile of Barramundi waiting to be caught.

01.01.2022 We didn't even get to stop in Cairns - we've just kept on running straight past it! 32.7kms past Cairns to be exact, but it's well worth stopping at Barron Gorge National Park, extends from the coastal lowlands to the elevated regions of the Atherton Tableland and features rugged mountain scenery, tropical rainforests, diverse wildlife and a fascinating history.

01.01.2022 We once again find ourselves in landscape limbo, but we're kinda close to Home Hill - Situated on the southern side of the Burdekin Bridge (known as the Silver Link) with an economy driven by sugar and agriculture, Home Hill offers landscapes dominated by lush green cane fields as well as access to some of North Queensland's finest produce. Only 7 days to go E-Scapee's!
