25.01.2022 Today is the day to thank the volunteers at Victoria State Emergency Service. As part of National Volunteer Week, VIC SES Chief Officer Operations, Tim Wiebusch... and Emergency Management Commissioner, Andrew Crisp got together to thank SES Volunteers to mark Wear Orange Wednesday. It's a day when we celebrate the passion and commitment of our hardworking SES volunteers. Every day, they stand ready to support their communities through severe weather events like floods, storms and landslides. They also help with road rescues, search and rescue and many other emergencies. So thank you SES Volunteers for all that you do!
22.01.2022 HOLIDAY HEROES SAVE STRUGGLING SWIMMERS Holiday makers at Wilsons Prom quickly sprang into action on Wednesday 18 November, after noticing 3 swimmers st...ruggling in the water at the popular Squeaky Beach. A holidaying rescuer swam into the water bringing the first swimmer to shore before returning to get a second swimmer. He returned a second swimmer to shore who was unconscious having swallowed water. A holidaying Doctor at the beach performed CPR reviving the second swimmer before emergency services arrived from Parks Victoria and Ambulance Victoria The third swimmer made his own way back to shore after trying to help his friends. All three struggling swimmers were transferred to Hospital by either Road or Air ambulance for assessment. This is a timely reminder for all people to engage in recreational activities including swimming that are within their abilities. If you are unsure, swim at a patrolled beach between the flags. #ParksVic #AmbulanceVictoria

01.01.2022 At the request of Victoria Police, Frankston City beaches were closed on 28 March to prevent people congregating in groups, in contravention of restrictions to ...prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus. Since then the message from the Victorian Government has been clear - beaches remain off limits to gatherings. Following a recommendation from Police and to bring Frankston City Council in line with neighbouring municipalities, Council Officers have determined that residents are able to access the beach for three strictly limited purposes: As a thoroughfare A place to exercise - including walking, and running A place for walking dogs (on beaches where permitted) Read the full #MediaRelease https://bit.ly/2Rnw2r7 ( ) #FrankstonCity #Covid19 #SocialDistancing
